Looking for a new good tasting hot sauce

Sorry I can't be much help as I haven't expanded my horizon's when it comes to hot sauce. I have been to this store a couple times and bought several different rubs, wing and BBQ sauces. Their bloody mary mix is really good. If you like horseradish, the nasal napalm is really good too. http://www.pepperpalace.com/ If there is one near you I would highly recommend checking it out. You can sample just about anything they have in the store.Large and Small BGECentral, IL

Tabasco Chipotle has great flavor. I use it as the 'secret ingredient' in a lot of my recipes.
Melinda's XXXX has a very good flavor/heat ratio. I *love* the taste/mouthfeel of habanero, but I'm not in the 'hotter is always better' crowd.

Marie Sharps is the best in my opinion - in terms of taste & value. I can usually find one at the grocery store for $3 or less: http://www.mariesharps-bz.com/
If you want to spend more - Try Blairs Golden Death or Pure Death. (http://extremefood.com/Pure-Death-Sauce/) - these ones don't have extract in them and won't kill your taste buds.Formerly of Houston, TX - Now Located in Bastrop, TX

Tabasco will always have a spot in my kitchen. The flavor takes me back many years ago to Green Top BBQ in Alabama. To me Tabasco goes well with southern BBQ.

Melinda's sauce is excellent across the board. It's also one of the most expensive, but worth it.

On the topic of hot sauces. I once tried this sauce that was really tasty. I'm pretty sure it was an onion sauce. Had a little heat. It was for use like Worcestershire on steaks, but it was clear enough to see through. I've been unable to find it googling. Does this sauce sound familiar to anyone that may be able to tell me the name of it?

I'm bummed, but at least I now know I will never be able to get that sauce again, so no point in searching anymore. Now I just need to see if I can find something close.

This is my favorite sauce, great flavor with a bite -
Arizona Gunslinger smokin' hot jalapeño. Not hot but not vinegary. Big hole in the spout so you can use lots. I have well over 1200 bottles of hot sauce in my collection and it is far and away the best tasting.

Ordering some now- have you had their chipotle habanero?
Greensboro, NC -
Yes, They are all good. Back in the day I used to order ten cases of the jalapeno at a time. Shipping got real expensive a few years ago. We find combo packs at Winners sometimes and that's why I've had them. Don't expect a heat bomb with this stuff, it's comparable to sriracha in that respect, but it's the freshest tasting sauce I've ever had.

Amazon has it- ordered and on the way. Now sure how Amazon works in the GWN. Love new sauces so thanks

Sorry to say that if you feel the Tabasco has decent taste, you need to see a physician. You may have a neurological issue that is affecting your taste buds.

Think Cholula with respect to heat level. I love excruciatingly hot stuff but I use the Arizona on my cereal and desert. My kids were weaned on it.Steve

I used to feel that way until I went to Avery Island after the Breaux Bridge crawfish festival.

@pgprescott - I have to respond to the Tabasco slam. When first married some 30+ years ago I told SWMBO, "the taste of whatever you cook doesn’t matter, I can standardize it with enough Tabasco.” As you could conclude, not one of my finer moments. However, I am glad they have expanded their line and do enjoy their offerings. "When you are the elephant in the room you have some influence."
BTW, Tabasco sauce is aged in Jack Daniels barrels. Straight from the company customer service rep.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
