I'll be 62 in July. My family got me a M for Christmas 2013. I had never heard of them before then. That's how much I was into BBQ. Bought a XL just before New Years this year. I now have the affliction.

Don't tell your problems to people. 80% of people don't care and 20% are glad you have them.

I don't believe we met in Salado but I hope you were welcomed. We may be older, and of another generation, but all of us are young at heart. We love our Eggs and having a good time. Ask for Spring Chicken or Spring Hen at your next eggfest as we would like to meet you. We enjoy the enthusiasm of young people.Judy

And aside from my ancient hibachi, I have an 8 yr old Lg BGE, still-standing, Weber Gasser, Weber Q, and a Weber Kettle! Just one, big, happy, grillin' family!!~~

I'll soon be 75 but I average about half that. First Egg was in 1999. Now have 5 (so far), plus a really cool outdoor kitchen, and been to about 75 Eggfests and Big Green Egg events around the country. I also have over a hundred videos on YouTube, most of which are Big Green Egg related. I'm not slowing down but I heard someone say at the recent Salado Eggfest that Spring Chicken is starting to look half fast.

37. Went to my first eggfest when I was around 30. My wife was 25ish then and she made fun of me for liking to do old people things. Believe it or not the crowd is getting younger back then the people on the old forum were all in their 90's I think.

I'm 43. It already sucks. Can't imagine how you retired guys get around without throat punching random strangers all the time. Oh wait a minute...

I'm 44 and made the best purchase of my life in March 2013.
I'd never heard of a Big Green Egg until I read an article, The Incredible Egg, in Saveur magazine in July 2010, then we saw one at Offenbachers in Sterling, VA. After my wife, it's the only other thing I fell in love with at first sight. When we left NOVA, we left the gas grill there. Bought a large BGE shortly after unpacking our boxes in BRLA.

I remember a thread asking that people show photos of themselves. One or two clicks assured me that I'm twice the average age.

The real question isn't so much the average age, but the average likelihood of dying from something rather debilitating. Like, oh I don't know...

49. BGE XL 2013. Larger pants, 2014.
Back in college, I worked in a BBQs Galore that carried eggs. They sat in the corner, we never showed them to anyone unless they came in wanting one. It was all about their Turbo grill which had a curved roll-style top at the time. Nothing could produce the same great flavor as cooking on propane
