OT - So Long Mythbusters! Thanks for 14 Years. It was a Blast!

We've always been big fans of the show and watched the series finale tonight.  Wilma's favorites involve proving/disproving internet stuff and ones comparing the sexes.  My favorite episode is about birds striking airplanes.  They built a canon to shoot chickens at airplanes.  I also like ones about cars.  Firearms are great too!  There are too many to list, the ones with unexpected results are the best.  I had a pick-up when they did the one comparing mileage with or without tailgates.  Until then, I was thinking about removing the tailgate and installing a net to reduce resistance and improve mileage.  The factory tailgate produced the best mileage.  I kept the tailgate on.

I'm a huge fan of the Mythbusters as well. Hated to see it come to a end.

Loved the show!  I remember watching their very first special.  Before it was a series.

Did you notice that they aired it tonight after the final episode? I thought that was pretty cool. To show the final episode and then the one that started it all. It's called "The Original Myth".

That is cool. I'm actually watching Mythbusters on SCI right now. It's the one with the ice cannon.

It's a sad day for "Science proving what is true to the average joe".

I'll miss the show, even though most of the time I was right as to whether the "myth" would be validated or proven wrong, I still quite often would learn more details as to why, and nearly always found it entertaining.

Sure would be nice if another crew decided to create a sequel of sorts, maybe call it "Truth or Fiction", or "Truth is stranger than fiction" or "Science revealed in daily life".

I admit that I watch very little TV - not even much sports, but Myth Busters like This Old House was always my time in front of the boob tube. In that same vein though I enjoyed the "kids" too, especially the younger Carey...she was hot!

I like the episode where they took on the global warming hoax myth.

Myth busters was mostly good.  I really enjoyed the early seasons.  Later on, the scientific  element got a little sloppy, but it was entertaining.

I used to be a fan. I quit watching when they went from busting myths to busting movie scenes. I don't care that they saw something in a movie and wanted to prove if it was possible. Those aren't myths.
