Dinner: with apologies (no egg involved)

Tired from a day that started at 6am after a day that ended at 1am. Took the younger boy to one of these state-wide competitions where they launch rockets and takes tests and do science-y stuff.

12 hours.

So, we're sitting by the fire
and eating what's easy

salmon, triple creme, humboldt fog, and pate'. With a little baguette to fill the stomach

sometimes it is ok to let the egg go cold

i haven't had humboldt fog - is it like the french cheese that has a layer of ash between the morning and evening layers?  not sure the name, i'm not quite as big a cheese nerd ;) ash, mold, he should still throw it out.  or give it to me to test.

Nice- you are nerdier than you think. It's similar to Morbier but this is a goats milk cheese and I think Morbier is cows milk. Similar style but totally different flavor.

I thought Humboldt Fog is what you smoke.

Not to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol is a solution...

Looks like the type of meal we could enjoy, good cheese, good bread and a glass of wine is pretty tempting.

A bit OT, but if any of you cheese lovers come across anything from Jasper Hill be sure to try it.. They make my favorite somewhat local cheeses (Vermont)... Winnimere is crazy good.
