Shrimp and grits

OT because it was a non egg meal. Sautéed scallions and garlic in bacon renderings. Shrimp dusted in Old Bay with a splash of lemon juice.

One of my very favorites! I love shrimp and grits.  I used to have the best garlic cheese grit recipe. I need to track that down and make this! Looks farking delicious!

I have a box of that mix that's been in my cubbard for over a year. I need to break out the box and mix them up.

That looks very nice. We eat a lot of those Red Lobster biscuits at our house. They are great.

I can also source some for you if you like. Beware through.....you want the real thing and not instant. You basically boil water with grits, salt and a little butter for about 20 min. Down south, we have many other ways. Some use a cream or milk for the liquid...and many add cheese. Can't give you all the secretes until you have committed yourself. We think it is funny so don't worry about it. Most of us down here grew up on grits. I think it is an acquired taste. I know a lot of adults who came down here and tried them for the first time and were less than impressed.

 I think it takes a couple of times for you to appreciate them.
