Bourbon Butter Pecan cake with Brown Butter Icing

I am looking to make a dessert and looking around for a few ideas for a cake.

I want it to have a Southern theme to it so I am thinking about making this.

Is there any other flavors of the south That I should consider?

I must say after living in the South for 15 years I haven't been to a shindig where they have had Prune cake... Not sure I would enjoy that..

@johnmitchell admittedly, it sounds nasty, but is really good. My mother is the only person I know who makes it. It's my uncle's favorite and she only makes it for him, or by special request. Kind of a cinnamon nut cake with very thin sweet glaze that soaks in. It's better after 2-3 days.

It all depends on how you pronounce Pecan.....
Pee-can is how I was taught to say it.  Yankee carpetbaggers always pronounce it pa-kahn.  
Red Velvet and Caramel Cake were always around too.

@theyolksonyou, I assume that your uncle makes a "special request" whenever he gets constipated.

@Foghorn I threw that in because I knew it'd get a stir. It really is good and has no affects on the bowels, at least in the amounts I've eaten. It's not like it's a solid layer of prunes. It's a sheet cake with prunes in it. Kind of raisin bread like.
