Very cool, what's the style of the hand railing called officially?
i have old rod iron outside and in the back I want to replace with that style.

@SkinnyV We used regular 2x2 square tubing and then painted.

This is how we attched the railing to the post. We milled these out of square steel blocks.

This is one of the coolest projects I've seen here. And here I am putzing around trying to make a dutch door for my kids room.

I would have hired you to make a gate for the stairs. The one I put up did nothing to stop my little guy, but did stop me a couple of times when I got racked in the middle of the night.

This is very impressive to say the least. You have a beautiful addition to a wonderful home.

5 years ago, My Beautiful Wife and I bought a home which was built in 1907. Our plan was to redo the home. Since then, we have determined it had been built by Ford, as we continue to do repairs to it daily. There is so much more to do. Next project is the Kitchen. Total demolish and rebuild.

Should that project turn out .0001 as nice as yours, I will die a happy man.

Again, beautiful job. Worth the wait.

Thanks all.  It was fun trying to explain to her 87 year old grandma why on earth we would want old barn doors in our brand new house and the rafters from her 150 year old home.  She still doesn't get the barn doors but really likes the treads.

Beautifully done. I especially like how you've combined the vintage materials with a modern look. It's also special that your Dad was so instrumental in the fabrication and construction.
