Luckily I have a great butcher right around the corner from my house, Humbert's Meats.  I also can make the trip to Findlay Market downtown and they have several butchers there selling just about everything.  I never buy meat from anywhere else.

I had lunch with @Gamecockeggman today and he told me about the Happy Butcher in Lexington SC. Oh my, good thing I didn't know about them sooner. All prime cuts and do their own dry aging. Will have to pay them a visit for a special occasion.

That Findlay Market is amazing. We went there in July while we were at Porkopolis. I wanted to pitch a damn tent and hang out for a few days. My head was spinning between there and Party Source.

Michael, what you say is true but good local butchers still exist outside our city.   And where I procured the fine cut I will post New Year's Day my friend.
I'm all ears. There's no butchers in the Marietta area except for one place that has a limited selection and charges more than SRF.
My friend, as you know I also spend time further north.  Wilkes meat market in Cumming shows up for me all day long.  Not convenient to you but first class for me.  I get my pork bellies from them, and much more.  I called them this morning requesting an unusual cut and they made it happen.  And they carry SRF.  Only butchers I use in our neck of the woods is the New York Butcher Shop.  High quality but high priced.
Lets discuss over wings my friend.
You mentioned wings. I make the trip up to Fergusons just to buy their 5lb packs of wings they are the best wings I have found. Im sure you know but Fergusons is right down the road and if you go on their website to the online coupons link they have $10 off when you spend $50. Comes in handy.

I agree on all the pros and cons of Costco- I'm located in Memphis and it pisses me off to no end that they won't carry packers.

Question for those of you that do the KCBS membership for Restaurant Depot access. I've seen the word "daily pass" used. Does KCBS membership give you unlimited access? How does that work exactly? I am considering...

From everything I have heard you get unlimited daily passes. There is a little counter when you walk in where you get them. I borrow a friends card but have seen people getting the daily passes before. It's worth it I may join KCBS just so I don't have to borrow his card.

@Hotch Beautiful pics.  A perfect Saturday begins with a trip to Findlay Market.  Just a few blocks from there is Rhinegheist Brewing and Liberty Tap Room.  Between Jungle Jim's and Findlay Market, my money doesn't stay mine too long, lol!

Steak and smaller cuts of beef - Costco
    Ground beef - Fresh Market
Hot Italian sausage - Fresh Market or Kroger
    Brisket - Walmart
Chicken - Costco or Harris Teeter

My city just got a Whole Foods. I have heard good things about their meat but I'm not going to spend that kind of money until the hype has died down.

The best deal is to look at the meat. A good Choice grade will be great and cost almost half the price of Prime. Just be choosy when looking at meat.

Buy it?  Just drive around in the country side and look for it.  If you see some tasty animals, do a little foraging, if you know what I mean.  I drop everything that accidentally jumps in my pickup bed off at @SGH 's crib and he does a fine job erasing the seria... I mean, butchering it for me.

I've been in Fergusons but haven't tried their wings.  Thanks for the tip @Lit!
