Started egging this year and consider my self an egg head. Just posted my built in table pics and now this is my log thus far. Not every cook is on there especially if it is a repeat. Have done a bunch of chicken bombs. I have been just using Google Keep on my phone. Here it is:
First cook was wings and drum sticks. Writing months later. Used Carolina rub but went wrong with mesquite wood.. Still was ok will
Pulled pork low and slow 250 degree for 12 hrs was delicious. Used my Dizzy Pig all purpose bbq. With digi 2
Pizza was awesome! 650 at dome with two stones. Used Roma dough and sauce. Cooks in 12-14 min. . Really good. May try smoke wood next time.
Turkey breast frozen and thawed. 6lb. About 5 hrs at 275 +- really good with just Dizzy pig all purpose. Used apple chips. Was good
Grilling simple kielbasa direct ... Beef so freaking juicy. 300 deg only two chunks wood. Hickory. Didn't take long. Like 15 min. Used digi 2 to track 160. Really good. Makes me wonder how good. Hamburger and hot dogs will be
Did ribs 225...2-2-1. Ended up going longer cause temp was low in beginning. Need to go higher on dome and double check grate temperature. Was good. Need to bbq only last 15 not an hour rubbed with dizzypigbbq all purpose. And mustard
Burgers 6/15/15. Good with hickory.... Need to try mesquite chunks next time. Did around 360 temp. Need to cook little longer direct next time. Temperature was 140. Need to feel or closer to 155_160
Chicken breast 6/16/15. In between two pineapple ends on grill at 400 about 25min to 160internal. Put soy and brown sugar drizzle. Okay. The Sweet baby ray.. Sweet Chili put it over the top. Really good. Pineapple gives chicken a different texture
Pizza again with Scott and Erika. Was good. Couple were way done in 10 minutes. Dome temp 600 very good..... Oh smoke wood. Doesn't penetrate. Not worth wood
Did mesquite chicken again. Need to take off earlier. Dome 350. Meat a little too done but still good 160-170. Need to take off 155 and foil to cook 5-10 min rest
Pork butt 8.5. For 4th of July 2015. 195 internal temp 275 pit. We will see....
PIZZA again with Dave Ruth Jackie. And Lee. Took top off completely. Takes about 40 min to be ready. Pizza about 10 min each. Need to try trader Joe next time. Not sure why. Roma is so good
Chicken Bombs were really really good with jalapeños and cream cheese inside. Mistakes still good didn't have bacon. And used breast. Really good. Recipe on here... KEEP
Chicken bombs again this time with bacon. May try leaner bacon Regina likes crisper bacon. Really good still
Dome was high sitting at 400. Still took 40+- min. Thinking of trying goat cheese mixed with monterrey next time. Even though Regina likes cream cheese. Mom liked as well 7/21/15
8/2/15
Dr Bbq ribs came out wonderful saved on Keep!
Did apple wood. . Want to try mesquite soon. . Used dizzy pig rub and sweet baby rays.
8/8/15
Burgers from Costco perfect right off 160. One a little over done. Was 160 earlier and didn't take off. Still really good. May try more seasoning. Made with crispy zucchini fries in oven. . Was really really good with mayo, suraachi, lime juice. Scott n Erika liked as well
8/15/15
14 pizzas. Thanks God Scott not Erika helped. Two eggs shooting them out every 7 to 10 minutes. Better at 650- 700. . No higher too fast
8/17/15
Reverse sear steaks. Ribeye from Costco. $38 for 3 thick ones. Very good mesquite flavor with cow lick from dizzy pig. . Finally steak! . Was good. Took off big 125 steak temp. 275 dome. Rest 15. Seared for 1 min each side. . Delicious
9/9/15
Cedar planked mash potatoes and balsamic glazed flank steaks. 400 deg dome (may have been a little low towards the end probably to higher especially for the hand full of minutes sear flanks) both were really good and got good response. Personally need a little more salt or pop for both the potatoes and steak.
Actually need more heat. I think remove green bell and leave red bell. Put in thin slices of Jalepeno!!!! Also want to do cayenne pepper with the mashed to make them "angry"
9/10/15
Another reverse sear. Rib eyes from Albertsons. Only 8 bucks a piece. 1—1.5 inch. Regina liked it! Which means it was good. Fat parts were like butter. Amazing. Took off at 125 internal. 275 xl egg. 500 large egg. Seared 1 min each side. Did French beans and jalapeño author graten potatoes. Yummy. Best rib eye I have had. So good reverse sear. Used dizzy pig cow lick only. .
9\18\15
Rest of frozen Costco burgers. Not fully thaw. Checked around 150 temp. . Chit chat too long and was 170 fast. Need to take off before 160. . . Was good just a little more done then I like. . Used just cow lick. . Did normal condiments but with guacamole. . Need to coin chop some jalapeños next time or green chili strips
10/7/15
Albertson's ribeyes. Sale... Go to butcher. . They do same price. . What ever cut u want. Took off 125 seared after 15 minutes rest. Still good and pink. Did all on large egg. Used spider grill for sear. Kinda burnt little. Not so much wood
10/12/15
Pork tenderloin 2lbs. Sale at frys 3.99 lb. Took off 143 internal temp and tented foil . Dome 425 for 20 minutes +- indirect . Made drizzle with 1/2 jam 1/2 bbq. Warmed Jam first then mix BBQ. . Zucchini squash 10 min after removing stone you make direct . . Both pork and zucchini season dizzy pig fish spice. Used pam olive oil for drizzle before season on zucchini
Really good. Everyone liked. Even plated like Chef on white plates and drizzled over middle of 3 stacked slices. . Used apple chips for smoking
Good healthy go to meal. . Better then pork chops (apparently direct or indirect is a preference and will try direct to get crispy outside.)
11/15/15
Pork Tenderloin again this time direct raised. . 350 dome mesquite wood. . 20 min. . Good. . Crispy as thought. Very good. . Will try cherry wood next. Zucchini. Skin down. Last few minutes turned to get nice grill marks. Yummy
11/17/15
Mesquite chicken off grill raised 370 dome off at 157 internal. . Really good and juicy. White rice and grill zucchini oil Salt n pepper
11/26/15
Thanksgiving turkeys. . Brinded 14hrs 350 dome 14 lb turkeys. . Took less then 3 hrs to cook. . Will ice the breast longer then 20 min next time. . Try to take off 160 breast. And 170thigh to come up during rest. . Was good. . Did pecan and cherry chunks with a skinned onion on coals
12/02/15

Glad to hear that you are enjoying the egg my friend. For the record, that's a lot of typing above. I like it!!

Yes it is a lot of typing. Thank goodness all I had to do is copy and paste. The log has helped memory of cooks. When I cook I really do take a second and look back a similar cook. It has helped for sure.

One day they'll end up on display in the Jungle Room of his house so the adoring BBQ fans can see them as they pass through the shrine where the great "man of many units" once lived.XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle
