Brisket Chili With Beans

This was my first batch of chili I've done with brisket. I went with @EggObsessed award winning recipe. The only changes I made were a purple onion for a yellow onion and added a can of corn. The recipe said that beans were optional. We all know chili has beans in it and that we weren't making spaghetti sauce!
I simmered the chili on the stove and than smoked on the egg. I went with apple for smoke.
Overall I enjoyed the chili. The brisket flat/point were very tender. A nice change from spicy sausage that I typically use in chili.

Nice! I agree, it's just meat sauce for a hot dog without the beans. Looks delicious!

Looks just plain great!
Beautiful beans.

Subconsciously even you know that chili doesn't have beans. That's why you named the thread "Brisket chili with beans" - not just "brisket chili" (which of course would have been incorrect).

I love chili with beans. I love chili withOUT beans. Haven't made either in a while. Thanks for the prod.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

@CarolinaQ +1.
I just got a small freezer for the garage and loaded it with freezer contents from the freezer shared in my daughter's garage. I discovered a buried container of chili with beans from who knows when, that long ago. It's a Penzey's chili recipe from so many years ago that it's no longer in their archives and it's my favorite. With cheese and onions on top, it was fantastic!
Next is making a flat and then brisket chili.Judy in San Diego -
Looks like a winner to me brother. Glad to hear that you used beans. Without them it's just red paste
