For $19.99 I'll buy another one without even thinking about it. $20 is my limit for not thinking money. I checked the Yeti Coolers FB page and didn't see it. Can you post a link?

@SGH - Scottie, I am gonna buy one as soon as I can. I will do a side by side compare of RTIC vs Yeti on ice hold to see if Yeti has been stealing from me as bad as the Democrats have been.

On December 4th, call RTIC's 800 number before 6:00pm CST. That is the cutoff.

Yeti is taking a very hard hit, wonder if they'll eventually lower there prices across the board on all their product.

I think RTIC is exposing the crap out of them.  I think everyone knew they were overpriced, but they are grossly overcharging folks.

Love RITC's slogan for the tumbler:  Half the Price & Keeps the Ice!

Based on a couple of comments that I overheard, I think YETI dealers pay more than that wholesale.

Yeti prices also fund capital imorovements like new tool dies, factory space, etc.  Not to mention R&D for the steady stream of new products.

Its easier and safer to be second to a market that has been created than to create the market.

I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

R&D?  They copied everyone's crap too.  Granted, they did use it as a foundation to build on.  RTIC is copying Yeti 1 for 1...like Eggcelsior said...it seems like they're just trolling Yeti and I love that ****.

@Ozzie_Isaac ... would be nice to know the balance between monies spent on the engineering/manufacturing side of the business and the advertising side.  Yeti was the leader in "selling" the high end coolers to customers as a necessity.  Based on this article ( http://adage.com/article/cmo-strategy/high-priced-yeti-coolers-aspirational-brand/295243/ ) they created the market.  Read down through the article and you'll find this paragraph:

The company declined to comment on its media spending, but Mr. Maynard said Yeti sponsors 72 hunting and fishing programs on the Outdoor Channel along with marketing on Sportsman, Pursuit and World Fishing Network. It also made a "sizeable investment" in addressable TV this year, he said, targeting households based on their behaviors to reach them during any program they're watching. Starcom MediaVest's Spark, based in Chicago, manages Yeti's media planning.

Help me understand ... When we buy a Yeti product, aren't we paying extra so that they can use some (a lot?) of that money to convince us we need to buy more of their products?  That's what all companies do, but since Yeti is still developing the market, they spend more than average ... thus, their high(er) cost.

Since RITC is using Facebook and the @SGH no-cost advertising agency, they can sell at a greatly reduced rate.  Not knocking either Yeti nor RITC (nor Scottie) ...

It also seems like RTIC is using JIT manufacturing and a direct to consumer sales mode. I'll bet they carry a very small inventory.

Yeti distributes via retail channels and I'll bet they have a huge investment in inventory sitting in various distributors and retail shelves.

Completely different go to markets with different cost structures.

For the record and clarity, neither Yeti nor RTIC manufactures the cups. They both buy blanks from a indepedant and have their perspective logo inscribed. You can purchase these cups for 15 bucks a piece. If you order 10,000 or more, you can get the bulk rate of 5 bucks a piece. Here is a blank with no logo on it.

I'm in for 10 at $5 per.  Now we just need 9,990 more spoken for!
