Tell your wife to go make you a sandwich.
    I believe it's called a sammich
I started to go back and correct my spelling but got lazy and hoped no one would catch it.......damn you!!

I use a rolling toolbox from Home Depot as a table next to my large egg in its nest. It has the wooden top and four drawers for storage.

I'm not sure I would have thought this ten years ago, but I really like my egg in a nest with the side egg mates. I also have the SS prep table adjacent and the combo is great.

  • Thanks for all of the replies and perspective.  I guess the best thing to do would be to try it as a separate table like she says first.  Then I can always cut the hole and mount it later if it still seems like the thing to do.  It's a lot harder to fill the hole in. lol

Oh heck, they're cheap enough ... buy two and then both of you will get your favorite approach.

Unless you are Italian, then it is called a sangwich....or at the tip of the boot, sangwitch.

Hey, I don't actually prep on the surface. I really just use it to stage stuff. Ha ha

I think it's "rub some chicken". Everyone knows that's what goes best.

Mai built this table for less than 100 bucks. Found some solid old pallets, and the most expemsive part was the wheels. Only took me half a day or so
You get that grab bar from the handicap stall at the truck stop?
Is there any other place to get it? Lol

I wouldn't eat any of my cats.  I wouldn't put anyone else's outside the realm of possibility, if I'm hungry enough.  (They hace to be well marbled and no feline luk)

All I will say is this. My table (recently built and finished) was not only the cost of the table build and granite top,.....but also hardwood floors in the upstairs as a prerequisite of hers. I guess I am not as good a negotiator (as many on here) or simply very low on wife points. I think you take what you can get when you can get it.

My egg came with the nest so I plan on keeping it there.  Doubt my toy poodle will knock it over....  That being said, I need table space. The ledge is not cutting it.  I am planning on making two of the wood pallet cooler tables to put on each side of my egg.   The coolers are water tight, so one will hold my lump and the other everything else or beer.
