Maybe Jason should have titled the thread "Monday Night's Spineless Chicken Cook" and it could have flown under the radar.
Man, why do you hate the guy so much?
Because Steve Spurrier coaches for himself and no one else.

    I just read a USA Today article. It's official, he's a quitter.

SEC Football is a tough place to make a living. He was one of the best. He would Zing anyone anytime. "You can't spell Citrus without a U and a T." I hated that guy sometimes, especially during football season on days that ended in a Y.

OK....I have had a few days to digest this and here is my take. First let me say that I aspire for the day when I can wake up and decide, I don't want to work anymore....That said, I might be 80 when that occurs.

Did he quite? Yes he did. I want try to put a positive spin on this, but believe there are a couple of drivers. First, he has said often that he would continue as long as we were winning. He thought we had a better team this year than we did. He takes responsibility for that. Secondly, while the Spur has a big ego, I don't think he is about taking a victory lap with the final games of the year. When he made up his mind, he immediately called it quits. One can argue on both sides if this was a good timing decision....I think he cares, but I also believe he wanted to remove himself from the equation quickly. Translate that to the team....you either give 100 percent, our get out of here.....which is what he did. JMTCW.
