Thank you brother. You are correct, the mushrooms will usually be considerably hotter than everything else. They really soak up the spice like a sponge. Brother if you are ever over my way when im not working, give me a shout and we will whip up a good ole seafood boil.

Went out of my way in Tyler to do a good crawfish boil last year.  Cost the GDP of a small country to pull off but filled the need for a boil with good food, drinks a friends.

When we visit family in Baton Rouge and Nola I'll let you know. We don't make it back home near enough. Thanks.

You my friend have a whole lot more going on that we like in our low country boils!

Being a South Georgia boy, we simply do Shrimp and any other seafood of choice, lemons, sausage, potatoes, corn, onions, seasoning. The end!

No need for other weird stuff. Native Memphians here think cabbage goes in there too! Now that's strange!

I throw everything in there except for the kitchen sink. If I'm in a bad mood or off of my meds, I will throw it in too ;)

That's my kinda meal right there Scottie.  I have a trick I like to use when I eat a meal like that......when I start to feel full I really kick it in overdrive and eat faster.  I know it's time to quit when the sweat starts to bead up on my forehead.  What a feast.  Thanks for sharing!!!

That looks delicious. We had a "low country boil" last week. Fresh shrimp and crabs from Biloxi. That's some good eating. Gotta be good for you.

    ...Boil Times:
Shrimp 90-120 seconds at a full rolling boil.
2-3 minutes at a hard boil.
    Crabs:
10 minutes at a full rolling boil.
12 minutes at a hard boil.
    Mushrooms:
5 minutes at a rolling boil.
8-10 minutes at a hard boil.
Corn & Potatoes: Everyone likes them done different so boil until your liking. My potatoes usually go 18 minutes at a rolling boil. You can adjust this to your liking.
I figure most folks know how to boil so I omitted the steps. However if anyone wants or needs them just ask and I will gladly include them.

So, do you do this all in one pot and just throw the long cook things in first and then add the rest as their time comes up?   It always looks like a low maintenance cook but wouldn't be if you have to cook them all separately.

I do a "clam bake" that is similar.  But I throw everything in one pot, clams on the bottom, potatoes on the top, throw a couple beers in and when the taters are fork tender everything is done.  And I'm always amazed that even though clams will cook on their own in 5-10 minutes. they are super tender being in the pot for a while.

Yes sir, one pot one boil. Simply start with what takes the longest and then add each one at the appropriate time. It's actually real simple as long as you know how long each item takes to cook. In my case, potatoes always go in first followed by the crab as they take the longest. The total boil time for each item is controlled by when you add it to the pot during the boil. And thank you for the kind words my friend.
