I had a drop (un-needed end of a cut) of 2" cypress from another project that I turned into a cutting/serving board. Put some legs on it that I cut out of some dark hardwood, sanded and applied mineral oil. It sucked it up...this is well seasoned wood.
Glued together with Festool dominos.

That's a beautiful chunk of wood. I've never worked with cypress. Will it stand up as a cutting board?Phoenix

That board is sexy. Good work!

@blasting not ideal it's soft. But the board is very thick and knife marks add character. Very easy on a sharp edge. This is mostly for serving. It's huge so nice for Brisket or other large roasts.

Made a desk and two benches for my neighbors. The drop is from this project.

FYI - Waterlox finish products are the best for cypress.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Nice cutting board! Did you turn the feet? Also are the feet glued on?
Though you can't see the feet when the board is right side up, I really like the step you put on them. Details like that really give it the awesome factor (along with the great looking cypress)!MM & XL BGE, Bay Area CA -
That is really nice. Great job.Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

@jollygreenegg I used a hole saw in my drill press without the pilot bit. Then a little sanding and glue n screwed them on.______________________________________________I love lamp..
