I have to disagree. I think their sales strategy will always be "half the price of a Yeti".

They are actually thicker than the Yetis. How much will this matter? Not sure, but more insulation is certainly a good thing. I told folks months ago in the original RTIC cooler thread that got buffaloed that these coolers were being built like tanks. From what i have seen, the only rotomolded cooler out there that may be heavier duty than RTIC is Orion. But they come at a very high price. Even higher than Yeti. For the money, RTIC is the current undisputed heavyweight champ.
First I've heard of them. But I am new to the forum.  Thanks for the info.

It's been months and these people sending emails and wasting their time. I never said Yeti but I will gladly pay double to get what I want now and know it's quality. Just like you paid double for your BGE and didn't buy a vision.
i bought a vision kub for less than a third the cost of a mini and have enough coolers that it doesnt matter if i dont see it til spring. =) how is a cooler a need it now thing

Not seeing how you came to the conclusion that it would be cheaper to get the real thing if they are half the price of a yeti.  Just because they sent an email? So that email is not worth saving $175+

you Wouldnt have know yeti was a good product if it weren't for people taking the risk and buying it.  No different here.  If you have that much money to just waste sure I'll take a yeti.    And for the other folks ordering the rtci coolers keep us updated on the quality when you receive them.
These people are having to spend time sending emails and calling to try to find out when they will get their coolers. to me my free time is worth a lot so if I have to deal with that then yes I will gladly spend $100 more and not wait and not deal with wondering and know I got a quality product.  Plus all this said above doesn't make sense. How can it be smaller with thicker walls and hold more? That can't be possible it's simple math.

Or you can just be patient and not waste any free time.  I preordered and couldn't care less when it gets here.  I'm not going to drop the extra coin on a yeti...especially since I am not a huge ice chest user.

They are impatient. You don't "have" to call or email. It's a choice to do so. I haven't called or emailed anyone. I would never have bought a fancy cooler at the prices they are normally sold. At this price I bought one of each size. I can wait till next summer and not care. Personally that saved me $500 over yeti. Pretty significant on any budget.

Every thing they have promised has been on par with what's happening. Just because people want it NOW isn't a reflection on the value of this cooler. It's a reflection of their impatience.

100% agree. I am in the impatient camp. I was just commenting based on the people that are trying to figure out when they will get theirs. Like I said before I hope these come in and are good quality competition is always good for consumers.

They are not HAVING to spend ANY time.  It's their choice to freak & be p$ssed.  Too much free time maybe?  Me,  I pre-ordered, I paid,  I'm waiting.

I think many of the other early adopters are also just awaiting END OF MONTH  or even Nov without panic.  It is going to be an equivalent, heck maybe marginally BETTER  cooler to the Y word  at HALF the price.   I wasn't going to pay yeti cooler type  money.  Now I am just awaiting relaxing & feeling good about the improved seal & better resin choices they made.

Yeah  their pre-order, pre-pay Dbase should be able to tell them where user x is in the queue,  but it doesn't.  Heck MY offices CRM system isn't gonna win a Malcolm Baldride quality award..

To the best of my knowledge (which admittedly is limited) RTIC has made no such claim. The only claim that I have seen them make is the walls are thicker than Yetis and contain more insulation. Also that the coolers are true to size internally: A 65 quart holds a true 65 quarts unlike Yeti who's actual capacity is smaller than the advertised claim. I have not seem the claim that they are "smaller" when claimed capacity is the same between the two given colors. If I am wrong on this, I will gladly stand corrected.

If it's less than a Yeti, but way better than a Igloo or Coleman, then it is a win for me.  I have no expectations that it will be better...maybe I'll be surprised.

You are going to be pleasantly surprised. If you haven't already got caught up in the Yeti hoopla, you will like the RTIC better than Yeti. If I'm wrong, I will eat crow with a smile on my face. RTIC has buffaloed Yeti.

I was going by the thread where photo egg got his but he was comparing the size and capacity to a pelican not a Yeti. So it's smaller and holds more than a pelican with thinner walls but larger and holds more than a yeti with thicker walls I guess.

I'm sure I'll love it.  I've never used a premium cooler so the bar is set very low for me.  I just got the 20.  It will be used for baseball games, roadtrips and to send my wife to work with a butt or brisket.
