OT: Suggestions for Wording on Table?

Toxarch
Toxarch Posts: 1,900
I'm building a table for the egg right now. I had a slight change in plans for finishing it out. I'm thinking of adding some words or very short phrase to the front and side. Thought I'd ask for suggestions. Thinking about something like "Low n Slow" on the side and "Barbeque" on the front. So I'm open to serious suggestions. It will be mostly permanent on the table. I'm not looking to advertise green egg on it.

I'll be sure to post up pictures when it's done. Haven't seen any egg tables online similar to what I have in mind.

    Try "Money to Burn".
I am just kidding, not really.
Actually, I totally dig nolaegghead's suggestion. IMO, that is as cool as it gets.

Write "Yeti" on it like it's branded. Put a ridiculously high price tag next to the name. The whole world will beat your door down trying to buy one!!

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’  Dare to think for yourself.

I like the suggestion @nolaegghead had.  That would be pretty sweet.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I am really liking @nolaegghead suggestion. I think I can make that work.

@fishlessman other than talking about the Peach Festival, "The Malt Shop", "The Pizza Place", or "First Monday" flea market, nobody would know I'm from here.

Seems like there's lots of debate on the internet right now about how to spell 'barbecue'. The trendy central Texas way is with a 'c', not a 'q'. For example, the famous restaurant is Franklin Barbecue. Something to consider if you want to put 'barbeque' on the table.

Just noticed as I was typing this... 'barbecue' passes the spell checker but 'barbeque' doesn't.

Of course, you can put either form or whatever you want on your table. But you may someday wish you had used a 'c'.

Just a suggestion, write the word "kamado" in the languages where it has an ancient history:

The kanji character for kamado is 竈. In hiragana, kamado is written かまど. In katakana, it is written カマド. In Chinese, it is written 卡玛都. In romaji, it is written kamado. Literally, it means “place for the cauldron”. The word has become a generic term for this style of ceramic cooker.

You might want to verify this before you put any of this on your table. Knowing @nolaegghead 's sense of humor, you could be in for a rude awakening!  =)
I pulled that right off the wiki kamado page.  The translations should be cited and traceable, but it's always worth DOUBLE checking. ;)  PS - I have been known to occasionally dabble in mayhem, so there's precedence for this.

Good point. I've always done it with a "que". Risky's Barbeque has been in North Texas since 1927 and that's the way they spell it.

You'll go nuts for my butts.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I've almost bought that wallet a few times. But I don't like a folding wallet so I haven't done it. I did buy the key chain from Kill Bill. I would post a picture but I'd probably get in trouble for it.

So I know a lady from Okinawa and another from Japan. I'm going to have them write down the Kamado name so that there's no confusion if I go that route.
