I was wondered how long it would take before this popped up on the forum - I was actually thinking there would be more backlash from the kamados then anything.

    @BigGreenCraig - so what's the story man?
I don't think anyone cares if he switches grills to be honest.  A lot of guys on here have the KJ Jr and no one cares.  I saw a pretty awesome post from a guy who only has a KJ the other day and he is a member here and well received.  There is a right way to sling product on this forum. You could be like Ron and sell rutlands only in an attempt to educated and help the members of this forum.  People just don't like it when a guy proclaims himself king of the Eggheads and tries to sell t-shirts.  I know this contradicts with my earlier post about letting it go.  I've been trying really hard to be nice to everyone lately.

Last night I sold my buddy on the next rub and sauce exchange......what will that get me?

I wonder exactly what has prompted Craig to feel this way. I thought he was a BGE advocate, like we all are, and was getting his name out there to get a following so he could make more money with his cooking classes etc.

Did he ask BGE Corporate to sponsor him or anything?

I may be speaking out of school, and I don't know the whole story, but we are all advocates of products we love.

I tell everyone about how much I love my Big Green Egg, Sleep Number, Directv, XM Radio, etc,

People have purchased these products based on what I have told them. I didn't profit from it and wouldn't expect to.

Like I said I am sure I don't know the entire story, but I think Craig has made a name for himself, and he does have fans and followers, and is making money by having cooking classes using the Big Green Egg. I think the egg has helped him. If he was cooking on a gasser I am not so sure that people would be signing up for classes etc. I think the love of the egg has prompted people to also take his class etc.

I am not trying to knock Craig. He can cook a whole lot better than me. I just think maybe he is feeling that BGE owes him something when they really don't.

    They already have Ray Lampe.

I think it's clear he's an advocate.  We don't know anything about his interactions with the mothership, nor is it our business.  Honestly, I read that comment as nothing more than the kind of poor-me kind of comment that usually results in a bunch of affirmation from fans/friends/whatever.  Probably just tossed out without consideration of the openness of social media or impact.  I think this is less criticizing BGE than attention seeking.

Take his posts as you will, but clearly others here selling directly with posts that only highlight their business, they just don't have the history here that BGC has.
    Love you bro!

You guys are talking about a guy who someone posted "may be the best cook on the forum". Plus, I saw him at Toronto Eggfest last month... he's not what I would call "morbidly" obese.

Old Gregg thinks BIG Green Craig is a fuzzy lil man peach!  I show my mangina on boats and he shoots his funk in parking lots.

C'mon man, that's 14 year old humor.  (or someone trying out their Samsung Note).

Craig has proven it time and time again he is only here for self promotion. Plus he's only an average cook he just takes time to plate and make things look pretty and set up the lighting and swap lens. Oh and from his pics he is without a doubt borderline extreme obesity based on the BMI. Look at that pic above he's got back titties.

I didn't say he was the best cook someone else did; which, by the way, is one of the funniest things I've ever read on this forum. No way that @BigGreenCraig  deserves that @SGH type of obsequious devotion.

Cheers to the OP. Way to go putting the word "devastated" in the thread title. Not bad for a second post. Something about that word that brings the best out in everyone.

In the spirit of that thread, I recently did 144 hour flank steak.  Sadly, I just ended up with speckled beef broth.  :bawling:

Yeah, 140 hours is the break even point for flank steak!

I asked @BigGreenCraig for a french fry recipe he did on the Egg based on a picture he posted on Twitter. He re-tweeted it but did not send me the recipe.

I thought that's what fellow eggers do - help each other out. Perhaps it's forthcoming. I hope so!
