OT - Mattress support

Just got a new mattress today and I feel that we need more support under it.
Currently, we have a queen bed that has a head and footboard. There are wooden rails connecting the both ends. I have wooden slats connected across these rails for a box spring to sit on.
I feel more support needs to be in the center , but most supports systems doesn't appear to fit in between the rails, but should act independently. Was thinking maybe just ditch the footboard and railing and only use the the headboard.
Am I not finding something else that would work? What do you guys have/use?

Geez Matt. Can you take it back? If you're lacking support on day one...
If you can't, maybe a piece of plywood between the matress/ box spring?Slumming it in Aiken, SC. -
Sheet of ply wood on the slats?
else, build a form and pour concrete with your and the wife's initials in it, maybe some hand prints... Yes, I'm drinking. -

I cut 4 tongue and groove boards to put under mine. It helped a lot. Sorry about the crappy pic but it's by flashlight.

Well, I think it needed it with my old mattress. I'm referring to the foundation. I only have wooden slats going across the rails for the box spring to sit on. The slats bow some and I feel it needs more support. The bed has great support, but I want to ensure the foundation is more solid.
Sorry I probably didn't explain this well the first go.------------------------------

@SGH dang, my guns should be that clean! I'm lazier than you. I also keep my under bed guns in gun socks. I get the disadvantages but prefer that.Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga

Just cut a slab of 3/4" plywood to fit inside edge to inside edge, thats what we did and it is rock solid. You can even buy the sanded plywood so it isn't as roughLarge BGEBBQ Guru DigiQ IIMartensville, Saskatchewan Canada
