BGE and Hawaiian advertising-

I stream Hawaiian music on the weekends.  Just recently the radio promo started reading off a summary of "how would you like this" related to grilling.  I said to myself, " I can do all that today, gotta be a BGE commercial" and dang, it was.  First time I have heard it on an island radio show.  Just had to share.

That's the POP (Pacific ocean  producers) commercial.  There a fishing  and outdoor  store.

Makes total sense to me. Our Plan "A" for retirement is in a ground floor beachfront condo on Kauai with a BGE I can light every morning and put some meat on it while I go paddleboarding.  We'll probably end up settling for Plan "some letter much further down the alphabet" but it's good to have dreams.  Many of those who can afford to live in Hawaii can definitely afford BGE.

@Foghorn-"Many" is too short-anyone who can land there can even experiment with various imported lump from the Mainland.
I am in total agreement with your choice of Kauai but I also have to dial down the alphabet letters.  SWMBO is not a fan-What's up with that?? :peace:

    Not a fan of Kauai?

    Seriously?

What - not enough culture? No opera? No ballet company?

Somehow you missed my comments- "I am in total agreement with your choice of Kauai."  That's the dream, the reality...Edit-SWMBO and I have had this friggin debate for more than 20 years-and I truly doubt I can change the discussion (and "culture" is never in the conversation).  Yes, the options could be life changing and expensive.  But what a place:)
A few more cocktails and who knows what life will look like Monday AM

I was referring to your SWMBO - as I thought that's who is not a fan.

If I had the impresion that you were not the fan, I assure you, I wouldn't have gone to "culture" comments as the possible reason... (if only I knew how to put a smiley face in here - on my computer it seems I can only insert them at the very beginning of the post)

Solid plan.  You could go to Ke'e Beach, hike out to the end of the Kalaulau Trail and live off the island.  Much more affordable. =)

@Focker, that plan is definitely on the list although it will be hard to get it up very high (on my wife's list anyway) due to the lack of creature comforts.  I could probably only carry a small Weber into Kalalau, so being eggless is not my first choice but I could live with it.

I have yet to make the hike because I developed appendicitis a couple of days before we left for Kauai a few years back and didn't think that doing that hike was a great idea - so we had to give up our camping reservation.  We hope to make it back to do that some day.  Was it great?
