I'm in Blake. I f***ing suck at pizza peel sliding. Completely botched it tonight. Oh well, still got to light the egg.
@Jeremiah I learned something as part of the challenge. Since I had to follow extremely strict rules, I had to use their method of putting the pizza on the egg. It works perfectly.

"Using a wood (or aluminium) pizza peel, and a little flour, the ‘pizzaiolo’ (pizza maker) transfers the garnished pizza using a rotary movement. The pizza slides rapidly with a quick wrist movement performed by the ‘pizzaiolo’ (pizza maker) on to the cooking surface of the oven without allowing the condiment to move."

one of these days we should do a college day throwdown of the cheap foods we used to savor, ramen pride with a dropped whisked egg or ramen tuna casserole, the hamburger bunn pizza, p&j sandwich assembled and slid into a bagel toaster laying on its side so the good stuff doesnt fall out, or a pimped out sloppy joe made with manwich sauce etc. i cant be the only one that ate so well =)

@mtbguy Thanks I appreciate it!  Is the BGE 12" the one labeled by BGE for the Medium? And do you use the MM WOO set-up with this stone?

My name is Todd and I am a pizza purist.
    =)
Okay, I used to THINK I was a pizza purist.  The only true pizza is a NY/NJ style thin crust pie and you can only judge a good pie by eating a plain slice (dough, sauce, cheese.)  Once accomplished, maybe you can get a pepperoni or meatball slice...maybe even some peppers or onions, but that's it.  And hell no don't put pineapple on it!  :o  And if you need a fork to eat it, you f*cked up.  ;)

    AND THEN, I read @DoubleEgger 's post.
And I realize that I am the poser.

    That was inspiring.  Thank you.
I respect your quest for authenticity.  Well done.

I know we're not voting yet, but as a previously self proclaimed pizza purist, I'd have to say that before Double's post, my favorite pie in the thread was @DMW ' s "typical cheese pizza".  That looked legit.

Yes, I am fully aware that I put shrimp and asparagus on my pie.  Inexcusable, but damn it was good!

With the volume of quality posts, you're going to need to get over one hundred people to vote or get a tie-breaker process.  Or you could just buy more rub.

Sorry husk. Was out of town since Thursday. Visiting the brother in law in Charleston, SC. No egg, but did a great Low Country Boil Friday night with shrimp that was swimming Friday morning. Also boated a few Reds. And drank...wayyyyy to much bourbon. I'm detoxing this week. B)

I know New York calls it pie, but Chicago deep dish is more of a pipe type the NY to me.  I like both and all types and about anything on it except anchovies. Yuck!  I like fish, but not those little stinky things.  @DoubleEgger, is one of my favorites as is yours too.  This is one one of my better post, but man, this is tough competition.  It was fun and my family and friends loved what I made so that is what is important to me.  Man, there is a lot of good pizza in the throw down.  This may have to be an annual thing.
