OT: recommendation for a decent BB pistol : OT

I know there are a lot of hunters, but I need a gas powered BB pistol so I can ping some pesky squirrels in my feeders. I can't use a 22 as this is a residential area. I have a fairly accurate Crossman pump pellet rifle, but a pistol would be ideal as I can open a kitchen window and shoot very discreetly! Any brand recommendation, model etc would be appreciated.

google squirels and waterbucket, its killer on chipmunks. you will go crazy killing squirells with a widlife zone out back, for everyone you get, two will move in to take their place

Pretty much any co2 powered pistol will work fine.  I've wanted to go with the paintball gun to leave them something to remind them of where they were when they turned orange!

In regards to air guns .177 for feathers .22 for fur....

Use 22 shorts they are very quiet and still pack a punch.  I use them on ground hogs in the city very discreet.

my air rifle is a diana rws, they make a pistol as well but its a brake barrel single shot, it would be a nice one to have. diana's are really solid guns. i would still make the trap, last time catching squirells on my tenth acre homestead i caught over 3 dozen in two weeks and conservation was on my case for moving them to a new home, someone in the neighborhood turned me in, i was then told to drown them

As far as .177 or .22, it depends a lot on the muzzle velocity. The 1000+ fps.177 air rifles will easily dispatch problem varmints that are the size of cats.....or so I've heard..

Ron, you will not win.  
You will kill one, and another will take its place.  Want them gone? Come up with a feeder that is squirrel proof, and you do not have a problem - not to mention you could make millions.   Not what you want to hear, but shooting them will not prevent them from getting to your feeders.  Well, it will stop that ONE from getting to it, but the next one will take its place in a day or three.  Rinse and repeat as long as there are squirrels in the world.

I use .22cal wad cutter pellets in a Webly with a muzzle velocity dialed to about 350ft per sec. Doesn't kill them but hurts like hell. Works on neighbours kitties as well. When the local tree rats hear the screen door open they freeze flatten then scurry away - they won't even use the fence anymore, they detour around the yard. 
Good luck with whatever you decide. Were you thinking about cooking them?

My folks have a bird feeder that hangs from a pole and they slid a piece of PVC pipe over it and know the squirrels can't get up it to eat.  It's fun watching them try.

We apply a little axle grease to the pole on ours and wait for the entertainment to begin!  They are funny to watch...

I have a gamo .177 that shoots ~1000 fps with normal pellets, I think 1200+ if I buy their PBR ones (I don't)

I have a large yard that backs to greenbelt, so I have no illusions of killing them all, but I do enjoy dispatching a few from time to time.  I'm in the city limits, so even subsonic .22 like CB caps would get me a fat ticket or worse.  

I have heard you can bait them with peanut butter/birdseed on a platform mounted to the side of a tree at the optimal distance and angle from where you may want to sit, cold beverage in hand and wait.  Something to look into someday.

.177 pellet will kill them all day long, I've hammered away at them and chipmunks for years using a .177 pellet rifle. Since I can shoot a shotgun or larger, I've taken to shooing them with my .17HMR, head shots are great fun.

Don't be advertising that you're shooting squirrels out of season. Hell hath no wrath like the Game Warden. Keep a low profile and TCB.

Ron, do not listen to the nay-sayers. When I was a kid I had a .22 benjimen pellet gun. There were whole years where no squirrels were available to shoot. When there were, I had to pump my gun up inside. The tree rats knew the sound of it. I could only get one shot off every few days. 

If you are serious (serious doesnt even begin to describe the furvor with which I hunted squirrels) you can bannish them from your territory.

I guess I should have explained my situation better. I agree we will never win since our property adjoins a 240 acre wildlife preserve. We seldom see any of the large red or fox squirrels, but instead have the small more athelitic grey squirrels. Believe  it or not I have squirrel proofed the three hanging feeders I have out and also raccoon proofed them as well. In fact the coons were more of a problem dumping a gallon of sunflower seed out each night by grabbing the chain and lifting it past the squirrel guards! I since anchored each to the ground solving that issue - what my problem is the smart squirrel which by trial and error learns how to do a vertical 5 foot jump straight up off my deck to grab on the to bottom bypassing the guards. Normally only about 2 a year learn that but will eat their fill of expensive seed all the while making faces at me just to p*ss me off! I used to dispatch those smart ones with my pellet rifle until once just as I shot the squirrel jumped off causing the feeder to be the target and that broken feeder cost me $70 to replace!  

I could use use my pellet rifle but my Westie can hear the pump action even when pumped out in the garage and then he goes blastic if I shoot it through the open window.  That's why a gas powered appealed to me.

@RRP Don't waste your time with a pellet pistol Ron, I have a Webley single crank pistol that has taken a lot of shots @ squirrels with minimal damage. Accuracy only at a very limited range. After moving up to RWS 350 Magnum .22 cal 1200 FPS air rifle, success has followed. Just my 2 cents worth.

@RRP I had a .177 air rifle, spring loaded (barrell break) that shot Gamo lead pellets that penetrated aluminum gutters.  It had a fixed scope and shot pellets @1200 fps.  

.177 will definitely kill a squirrel with a properly placed shot.  The only thing that sucks is if you miss, it takes a little time to reload.  But it's like the egg, you'll learn to fine tune it and hone in your skills.

Another option may be a crossbow with a Judo Point.  Quiet, fast, and deadly.... Specifically designed for small game.
