My wife and I finally got to see him this February in KC, before he got sick. I think we were one of his last concerts. He will be missed. Thank You B.B for all the great music.

I was lucky enough to hear Mr. King perform a few times in the 80s. Had the sweetest, cleanest sounding guitar I'd ever heard.
A friend of mine was at one of the concerts, and he was a little disappointed. BB used to play at a small bar/club in town called "Jelly's" in the early 60s. My friend would sneak in. He was big for his age, and kept a low profile. Those performances made a big impression on him.

When we seen him I noticed that he had lost a little bit of his chops, but I told myself that he is doing good for being 89. A few days later I heard he was in the hospital for exhaustion. Last week I heard he was in hospice care and felt bad about it then. He and Steve Ray Vaughn were two of the people that got me into the blues. I have more CD's and music of all kinds of Blues then any other type of music.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.

The world lost a great one. Riley B. King, Blues Boy, later B.B. King. He was able to make a guitar resonate human emotion, and always seemed to persevere through pain.
He was a very fortunate and gifted man, he the majority of his life with his passion, interpreting the blues for all of us to understand and enjoy. I saw him in Europe and the US, each time he performed, he was both fun and gracious, not to mention outstanding. He was one of my favorites.

Saw him 2x in my life. Both small venues and were such a personal experience. Could definitely feel the soul and heart in the performance.

He has been my favorite blues artist, especially his recordings from the 50's and 60's. Watched him perform in Chicago, Iowa City, and Houston - he always had a special connection with his audience.
I remember the show in Chicago where a woman in her 60's in our row kept screaming "take me home, BB! Take me home!"
I'm gonna miss the guy.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

I read a story about BB passing away in Christianity Today, I guess he's in Heaven now, not much call for the blues up there ... but the story did mention he also loved gospel music .. I suspect there is a LOT of gospel music up there... the heavenly worship band just got a big upgrade ...
Rest in Peace BB -
RIP B.B. The thrill is truly gone
