forum problems
3 words...first world problems. If you're going to get this torqued up over an Internet food forum it might be time to look around at people with real problems. It's a freaking forum.
If you're going to change your life over some douche on the internet...good luck. You'll be changing forums a lot.
If you're gonna leave, leave. Don't go on and on and on. ...everyone wants you here obviously, you've contributed much but please stay or go if you can't handle being offended by an interweb troll.

When I think I have it tough, I just remember Tibetan kids that had white tape on their faces to protect them from windburn.
But they had huge smiles on their faces. Oh, and the Tibetan yak butter tea was amazing.They/Them

To get worked up over internet trolls is......devastating.
Ya, I said.Louisianian by birth, Louisianian by death. Austinite for now... -
Always a healthy choice to simply take a break from the forum ever so often, after 12 years on this forum I have seen quite a bit. Every once in a while I to get too wrapped up in things around here, by stepping away many of times... it really does help. But, to each their own. I'm gonna go cook something.

The greatest barrier against all wisdom, the stronghold against knowledge itself, is the single thought, in ones mind, that they already have it all figured out. -
If anything, getting an occasional troll is beneficial to all members as we get the personality test run on everyone and learn where peoples' limits are. To make an analogy, it's like simulating a natural disaster, accident, attack or any extreme incident where you're going to see and learn where boundaries lay with individual people. Of course, it's not that serious, but people also react in training like they would in reality.
When I was doing PADI training, an instructor would sneak up behind you and rip off your mask. Some people freaked the f*ck out and zoomed to the surface (where they were grabbed to keep them from surfacing and hurting themselves). Most people were just annoyed but tried to put their mask back on and clear out the water.
So you learn from this, who is around you and where their limits are, and that's good, right?
I understand we're not here to see waving **** gifs (outside the context of one's own or in some elective video), so that's unacceptable, and the troll should go when it gets, or better, before, that point.

Trolls are fun.
I'm on a bunch of car forums, and this place is pretty tame.
That said, I have no idea what transpired here. Sounds heavy.

Tony. Well put. I have nothing to add. If anything it showed us as members have some standards even if they're below Badwater Basin's level. FWIW members here tend to be more self governing in moderation than the actual moderators. Don't believe me?...try to sell a t-shirt

For instance, Guys like BGC post an occasional cook, but he's only here to push his name down the forum' collective throat. However, the member, forget his name, who wanted beta testers for his temp controller was much better received. -

Somehow, those two sentiments seem vaguely contradictory, but I don't care enough to make the point.
Anyway . . .
BGCraig's offering of T-shirts was straight up goofy and his follow-up venture involving Fire Wires indicated a basic misunderstanding of the room he was playing to.
Nonetheless, that was a long time ago. He's taken his shots - deservedly - and still occasionally shares his food porn with us.
I'm okay with that. He seems to be an outstanding cook and a good photog - what's not to like?
Unless . . . people just need to kick a dog now and then
to make themselves feel better.
