I believe the new one does. It has thicker metal than the earlier version which I think I read had a possibility of sagging at high temps.

Can we get some measurements of the Mini Max version to see if it might fit the Joe Jr.
The word is that a KAB model specifically for the KJ Big Joe will be available sometime this summer and that one for the Jr. will be available not long afterwards.

Can't wait (but I guess I'll have to).

@SkinnyV I'm in the same boat as you with my KAB medium. I came close to having a fire die last night due to "excessive" lump burn and reduced capacity. I'm not sold on it yet.
When I used mine, I couldn't get anything over 400* with everything wide open. Mine is sitting on the shelf.

@Lit do you have a KAB or are you assuming you wouldn't like it?
I never said I wouldn't like it I just said it's not needed. It would make sense for the MM if traveling to be able to remove all the leftover lump at once for cooling but I stir my lump before lighting and clean them every couple cooks and can't remember the last time I had trouble getting any egg besides the MM to temp quickly. The ability to cook raised direct IMO is way higher on the list of needs than the KAB. Guess my question is what is the benefit of the KAB?
The key is "IMO". In his opinion, he thinks the basket is great. There you have it, people have different opinions, ideas, and priorities. Surely it's clear by now, they often differ from your/ our own opinions.
