Matt. Please give a full unbiased review. Seriously considering this as to where before it wasn't even on my radar.

And also will this product interfere with use of the CGS WOO?

I don't have a MM but I would think if your transporting the little cooker it would be a no brainer. As soon as your done cooking remove ash basket dump it and be on your way.

That looks like the new heavy duty style. I'll bet that's going to work great.

I'm really looking forward to one for my small egg.

Full honesty here - When I teach BGE classes I always cover my "Top 3 Eggcessories" and the KAB is one of them. Now I have them in all of my Eggs.

For me, I can shake the ash out between fires and get a good, clean burn faster with the basket. Also, cleanup is less frequent and easier. I usually pull the basket out, shake the old ash out over the trash, then start a new fire.

I HIGHLY recomment the KAB. Plus, Chad Romzek (the head honcho) is a great guy. He will take care of you. I like to do business with good people.

It does not interfere with the Woo.  It just kiss's the Woo in the worst case scenario but you can easily rotate one or the other. Now for some up-side down pictures.

    Awesome Matt....thanks for the Props!
Great picture with the Woo too.....didn't know there was gonna be a Mini Woo but that freaking rocks. CGS has so many fun toys! I'll have to get one for use with the Wok we got from Richard in Florida.

OBTW all the rubs from your line that I've tried freaking rock man!  Edit: @Irv you must make a quality product because I have yet to see a negative thread here on your products &/or customer service. Any idea whether this might fit a Joe Junior. I'd definitely be in if it fits or if you decide to make one to fit.

I will stand by for updates and reviews. Does the egg cool down quicker if you remove the ash basket after a cook that would be great for travel. May return or sell one of the new high ques and go this route if its promising enough.

The only negative comment I've read is that they just don't hold up.  Granted, a few of the people who made these comments (on FB BGE closed group) did say they bought another one.  That says a lot.

Hope this was a joke. The smoke ware cap is not needed at all and the KAB seems nice but not needed. An easy raised direct setup like the woo is needed.  I may get a KAB for my MM because the comment about traveling but I would never get one for any other egg. Really not sure what it's for on other eggs.

The KAB takes the place of the fire grate on the bottom, right?

I believe the new one does. It has thicker metal than the earlier version which I think I read had a possibility of sagging at high temps.

Can we get some measurements of the Mini Max version to see if it might fit the Joe Jr.

I never said I wouldn't like it I just said it's not needed. It would make sense for the MM if traveling to be able to remove all the leftover lump at once for cooling but I stir my lump before lighting and clean them every couple cooks and can't remember the last time I had trouble getting any egg besides the MM to temp quickly. The ability to cook raised direct IMO is way higher on the list of needs than the KAB. Guess my question is what is the benefit of the KAB?

@Lit I ordered the basket for the exact reasons you stated to cool off faster when tailgating.  I will let you know the results when it arrives

Would you just dump the leftover lump?

No I would just let them cool down outside the egg then put them back in.

@Lit Its totally worth it. I'm about as far from a salesman as one could get, but I do believe it's worth every penny they want for one. The fact that it doubles as a high que, is known. But what I like about it is start up. I can open the egg, lift it out, walk to the trash can, shake/stir out the ash, walk back and either set it back in, or every few weeks vacuum out the bottom. Which I can do easily as the entire remains of the lump are still in the basket, not still in the egg.    Is it the best accessory available? No. Is it a prerequisite? No, not nearly as important as an indirect stone, or some way to raise the grid, or even a good thermo, but definitely worth the $60 they're asking.

Buy it. I'm willing to bet a bottle of your favorite rub that you'll agree.
