First post, first Egg and yet...

...to have first cook. If the vagaries of our unpredictable British weather allow it, it could be this coming weekend.

I wanted a table for my new MiniMax and decided to move away from all wood. Instead I chose 25mm aluminium square tubing which has great strength, with pine shelving. Just 48 hours from start to finish...the Egg is settled in, still within its stand, and can easily be removed for odd away days.

Clearly lots to learn from the aficionados here, particularly for a septuagenarian with not a great deal of experience!

Wish me luck!

Yes, Tim ... one national distributor and (I believe, a couple of retailers).

As to your second question, as usual with US manufactured items - and particularly large, heavy products - we have to pay as much in £Sterling as you do in $s. It makes such purchases as BGEs expensive but we're hamstrung ... if you want it, you have to pay for it. :-(

Would it work out cheaper to have one of us purchase an eggcessory here and ship directly to you?  I've never had to ship overseas so not familiar with cost so please forgive if a stupid question.

Yes, but with the supplied three and four-way joints it really was no great engineering feat. Accurate cutting was the only challenge but working with aluminum instead of steel even made that easier. Thanks for the comment.

Cool table for your MM simple wins in my book. Appears you didn't lose its portability either (meaning easily removable from the table). Enjoy.

  • DerekW, Great looking table! I just got a MM and was looking to make a table. What size hole did you need to cut for the egg to sit in? Also, What is the height from the top of the concrete block to the top shelf? Any help is appreciated!
