Cutting smoking wood. Storms of a few weeks ago have provided lots of fresh oak, hickory and maple limbs. Pictured is hickory. Just the right size for chunks.Richmond and Mathews County, VA. Large BGE, Weber gas, little Weber charcoal. Vintage ManGrates. Little reddish portable kamado that shall remain nameless here. Very Extremely Stable Genius.

Took it to 150 IT, then wrapped in foil, brought it to 190, pulled it off and diced it up. Poured the smoky drippings into the pot of chili as well.
Also have some Jimmy Dean sausage in with it. The house is smellin' good! Final chili pic in a couple hours.

Got back from a private school open house. Strategizing with the wife how we'd be able to afford it for the next 8 years.

Prolly my best chili to date. Mild, but can easily be spiced up to individual preference.

Just installed a little caddy next to the Blackstone. It's the little things.

Don't mind at all. Amazon. I cut off the top tabs, and removed the logo.

Back to earth after a few LEO's and wondering what happened to a load of ABT's and follow-on groceries. I do know there were many who helped consume so "no worries" on the back end. Rewinding for another lap right now. May break out the brown water rocket fuel just to expedite escape velocity. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

All these years I assumed the hole in the handle of a pan was for hanging it. I never realized the real intention:
