Stainless hardware, oversized thermometer, ash collection system, divide and conquer rig, composite sides, and heavier stand. I was quite impressed when comparing to the egg. The BGE has some catching up to do.HeavyG said:
The two larger KJ models have an ash collection system that has a perforated screen panel so no need for a separate sliding screen door.DoubleEgger said:I just wish it had a screen over the damper.
The KJ Jr. does not have the ash collection system nor a screen door but I have yet to see any embers jumping out thru the open bottom vent even when I have it opened all the way at startup. I use a KAB in my Jr. but I have no idea if that helps eliminate that problem."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. I agree @WeberWho. From what I've seen of them, I'm very impressed, and KJ would be the way to go with a new purchase. The only thing that would hold me back is the color - I just am not a fan of the red.

Agreed. I'd prefer we lived in a world where billionaires were expected to pay for their own damn stadiums. However, they've come to expect receiving their government welfare checks and pols and many citizens are eager to give it to them.Acn said:

Worked all day again on the shed covering it with stone. I am beat. Now I am eating a cheesesteak and having a beer, because that is what I wanted ...

@Sea2Ski - great looking chips right there...and there is no such thing as "a or one beer". I'm sure you can fix that grammatical hiccup

Wrestling with a bit of a challenge - I need to get out of Low Earth Orbit in about 2 hours to fire up the LBGE. Plan is for about a 2 hour stabilization (no controller here) run then a pork butt targeted for a noon inhale- given the flexibility of a butt cook and my alcohol intake, I am confident this will not become an issue (unless I stray to the brown water rocket fuel) but one never knows.
Edit: Following the BC thread as I am curious as to the "brisket cook lessons learned" from the camp...

Just got back from a hot air balloon festival. Daughter is big into them right now cause they always fly over our house so she was excited to see them up close. They were putting them up right over us we could feel the heat when they would light them up.

Theyolksonyou you're correct. We ate at "The Max" tonight. It's a pop up restaurant in Chicago. My wife is a Saved By The Bell fanatic. So we made the trip. Here's a few random pics:

We started out with AC Sliders and the Mac and Screech:
The Main entrees were The Kelly Kapowski and the Bayside Burger:
For the dessert we had Max's Magical Sweet tooth and the Snack Attack:

We're playing in OSU in The Shoe. We look better than we have in a decade or more. But, we have improvements that can and need to be made. OSU has an impressive team. Cheers.Eggdicted_Dawgfan said:Unreal. Penn always hangs tough when you least expect it. Huskers should dominate them.
