$6.75 for a 16 oz Miller lite.  Seriously rediculous

Just picked up a 24 pack for the wife and I over the next few days.

I'll be on Steamboat Lake in Minnesota. I did find a place in Taylor Creek a few minutes ago that looks promising...
Steamboat lake is about an hour north of Frozen Fest get together. Beautiful area up that way. Hope to be two hours north/west of you in a few weekends. (Boundary Waters)
Where you going in BW? Four of us are going in Little Indian Sioux Entry (14) on the 22nd for 7 days. Been working on gear and food for weeks, and have my tent set up in the backyard. I can't wait, though the long forecast doesn't look so good for us.
@Cashfan Going through Sawbill Canoe Outfitters. Going up with 100+ teens May 20th. So technically we are in the outer edges and it's about a eight minute canoe ride into the Boundary Waters. We have teens that have never slept in a tent before to Eagle Scouts. Awesome experience for them
@WeberWho That sounds like an interesting trip. An eight minute canoe ride is still the Boundary Waters, and Wal-Mart is a long ways away. haha.

We have always base camped on Gabbro, which is 20 min outside of Ely, one portage, and about a 1/2 hr paddle to find a campsite. Not very far in, but still awesome.

This year we are doing a 45 mile loop over seven days. Its going to be quite a challenge. I am extremely over weight and out of shape, so this should be interesting.

    Have a good trip!!
    @Cashfan
Love Ely. My wife's grandma is from Babbitt. Your trip sounds awesome! Have fun and hoping for the best weather

@Lit for the wall system, I went with Proslat. Holds 75lbs/ linear foot.

I also have Saferack ceiling racks coming. 2 8x4 racks with a 33 inch drop down.

Everything is from Costco. The racks are on sale right now so I might get another 2 if I can figure out how to fit them in by the door without it looking to cluttered.

Packing for a long weekend at Great Basin Nat'l Park, NV, to capture photons and gaze at the Milky Way (it's supposedly one of the darker places on Earth, out in the middle of nowhere).   :)
That sounds fantastic.  Have fun, share a pic or two when you get back - I'd love to see.
    Crap.  I really screwed up.
I knew the battery in my Nikon was low so I threw the charger into the camera bag, sure enough the first pic Thursday night the battery was dead.  No problem, I hiked and drove around the park to get my bearings, and really enjoyed the beauty (and mostly the solitude) of the place.
Get back to my room (rustic: no tv, wifi, heat, AC, phone, or even a chair) and found I'd grabbed the charger for my Sony camera, gaaahh!
Hiked around a bit more this morning (the bristlecone pine forest at 9,500' was still under 2' of snow, and I hadn't brought the snowshoes) so decided to come home to get other things done the rest of this weekend.
I'll be returning soon though, beautiful place and the wildflowers were just starting to peek out. They have a few high-powered telescopes at the top lodge (7,500') for viewing at 8:00 pm on Saturdays, that will be cool too.

Now you know why they call me "botch"....

Man I hope you are installing in an open area. These are easy to install but I would not say these are good for over single car garages. My 3rd attempt I finally got it to work after cutting around some of the garage door support. I installed all my kitchen cabinets with an ins land faster than this took.

Had some folks over. Cooked some stuff.
    Short ribs on the Small.

No egged pics, but baked beans, homemade sausage, and chicken quarters on the XL. Asparagus stir fry on the Small.

    The proteins:

    My plate:

I think this was my best planning on amounts. Only had two chicken pieces and a quart of beans left over. Everyone is gone, rest of the family is in bed or on the way, I am drinking.
