My parents had a couple oak trees dropped yesterday. My dad and I had the chainsaws out today and probably for the next week. I should be good for a few years worth of oak smoke wood.

Not sure if this belongs here or on the what are you drinkin now thread. I'm deep into the wine, pre-dinner, dinner and post-dinner.   Daughter and boyfriend are out on date and coming back later to watch movies here in the first floor family room.  SWMBO put a note on the oh-so-comfy sofa to prevent me from passing ou..I mean falling asleep in the family room.  Note says, "Upstairs".  .

I've been meaning to post a Survey here, "How many people do you normally cook for?"  Most of the posts here go something like "I smoked six butts, with a dozen sausages on top, and then grilled 40 wangs afterwards before the coals died down..."
WTFF????  
I cook say, a brisket, and have leftovers for six meals or so, and by Friday am so sick of brisket I eat salads and fish sticks for the next few days.  
How on earth do most of you guys cook so much meat, so often?!?!?!

As far as the daughter's boyfriend goes, I favor this philosophy, gleaned from the Dads Against Daughters Dating (DADD) website... "Don't trifle with me son; I have 10 acres, a shotgun and a shovel."  

Or perhaps less ominously, "If you make her cry, I'll make you cry."

She's 19 now but still my baby girl.  She has been familiar with my DADD membership since entering her teens.  When her first boyfriend broke up with her at age 14, she came to me in tears and said, "Daddy, get your shotgun, Owen just broke up with me!"

@NPHuskerFL - thanks for the good wishes, but we're renting a 1 BR apartment for the three of us, so opportunities of that nature are likely to be limited.  Both SWMBO and I are only kids and we're perfectly happy only having 1 - a second wouldn't necessarily be the souvenir we want from this trip.

@Sea2Ski - thanks, this is my first trip, but my wife has been to Paris several times before (she spent a semester in Spain while in college and explored a good chunk of the continent) and we've been sketching out what we want to do on which day.  Thanks for the re-iteration of being on the lookout for scammers - definitely something we need to stress for the kid.

On a side note - is 8 too early to watch Taken?  Show what happens when you don't listen to Dad.
