Still working.  Doing a big rollout.  There were about 30 objects of compile in the Oracle data warehouse at one point.  Got everything fixed but waiting on some indexes to build on tables with millions of records.  Takes for friggin ever.

Once the last set of scripts run I'll be able to run my test scripts and cross my fingers nothing is broken.

    Two things to note chaps;
    1. The transfer window slammed shut to little acclaim. Turns out that clubs are skint / baffled by Brexit.
    2. There was a round of games mid-week that I didn’t forecast.  I am assuming that absolutely everything else in your life meant didn’t feel short-changed.
On we go to this weekend, and big news - it has snowed.  You need to understand that even a solitary snowflake throws the whole country in to chaos and panic.  Genuinely.

7 games today, starting with Newcastle off the back of beating Man City go to Wembley to play Spurs.  Lightening not twice comes to mind.  A close fought home win.  2-1.
Brighton host Watford, each in mid-table but if the visitors win they will be nudging the potential European spots while Brighton, thrashed mid-week, might start to get the jitters.  Lets lump on that then; 2-0 Watford (pleeeease)
Burnley are returning to being the hard-to-beat team know and love, in the way you ‘love' that slightly aggressive kid at school. 1-0 home win all day long there as Southampton aren’t all that on the road.
Chelsea have hit a malaise.  Early season surge has halted because other teams have worked out that they have a play-book on 1 tactic.  Even so they should beat Huddersfield at home. 2-0.
Palace host Fulham and must must must win.  They are unnecessarily flirting with the relegation periphery again. The last knockings introduction of Michy Batshuayi on deadline day means we have either; three misfiring strikers or finally the talent needed to convert the copious chances we make every game.  That’s Palace! Oh heck, 2-0 Palace and be damned.
Oddball Everton welcome more hit than miss Wolves.  They will fight for the Everton Cup, which does no exist, but refers to the meaningless 7th place in the league, it’s the top of the ‘whats the point?’ group. Could go either way so 2-2.
In the evening kick off Cardiff await Bournemouth who stuffed Chelsea 4-0 midweek.  Let's hope for more of the same, albeit unlikely. 2-1 away win because I think it's time Cardiff started losing and confirmed their spot in the relegation pack.

Stoke go to Hull, and I would commend all of you to never do that.  Hull is not as bad as Grimsby - but just trust me that there’s no need to go there to find out.   Patchy results all around and both teams destined to slot in to the mid-table until further notice.  Sticking with the @Eoin Amendment : 3-0 to Hull.

On Sunday Ole’s Man U - now with a draw under their belt after many wins go to Leicester, who are the very definition of unpredictable.  I think this will be a decent match with both trying to win.  I’m going 2-2, with a side bet on 3-1 to Man U.
The Big’Un is Man City at home to Arsenal.  City stumbled again mid-week and Arsenal produced an uncharacteristic gritty performance to win.  But I think the Manc’ blues will canter to victory here. 2-0.

Things end on Monday night with the league leaders heading down to West Ham.  Some say its a banana skin but I don’t see it. The Reds have Milner and Alexander-Arnold back, plus Van Dijk fully fit.  West Ham are unsettled by Arnautovic’s antics and he picked up a knock last time out.  Im going all in 3-0 to the Reds.

I’m off to flap and panic because some snow has settled on the car’s roof and its frosty.  Thats what we do.
Other girls may try to take me away
But you know, it's by your side I will stay

I have to disagree on the Grimsby - Hull ranking, I'd take Grimsby over Hull and if you take The Deep out of Hull (the ONLY reason to visit Hull), it's 6-0 to Grimsby.

Top transfer news is the swap deal where the legend that is Crouchy has moved to Burnley in exchange for the not so legendary Vokes. Let's hope he surprises us Stoke fans with a run of goals and launches us towards promotion.

We did a rollout last weekend. We are a MS shop so SQL Enterprise for us.   7 servers, on 3 virtual hosts.  5 were both machine and version upgrades and 2 were just version upgrades.  Thank God no replication. What could go wrong, right?
Was not a disaster though.  Started Fri night and ended noon Sunday if you factor in backups and *most* index rebuilds. Thank goodness it was not me doing the rollout. My part kicked in after the “all clear” as I live in the production environment. I do not have the luxury of rolling back and trying again once we spin back up like others do in other environments. We are still having ripple effects today... but once worked out we should be able to take advantage of some new features making life easier.
    I think.
    I hope.

My comment to nola was in jest.  To say this stuff is not in my wheelhouse would be an understatement.

And here I thought it was very ironic that these upgrades were taking place all at the same time.

Threw a 10lb shoulder on at 830 this morning it never got over 275 and it was at 202 at 5pm. KIcked it up to 325 and threw a couple jalapeño cheddar sausages on for dinner. What an amazing day in the ATL I had my boy riding his powerwheels around the cul de sac at 9 am and I had my pajamas on lounging in a chair no sweater required. Crashed out on the couch on the back porch around noon it was clear skies and like 65 then woke up around 3. Drinking now and neighbors are coming over for board games and fifa a little later.
