Watching a Soyuz launch that experienced a rare booster failure which required the capsule to make a quick return to Earth via a sharp angle landing (crew experiences much higher G forces). Seems everyone  is ok.

Since it was an unplanned landing there are no rescue/support people nearby so I guess they just hang around outside the capsule and do shots of vodka for the next hour and a half - Na Zdorovie!

Do Russian space missions carry vodka as part of their emergency equipment?

Yes, and a tin of beluga sturgeon caviar.

Headed back to Dallas tomorrow morning. You know, for as many toll roads in the area, you'd think they'd have immaculate road conditions. We hit a pothole in Irving that I thought was going to total our rental car.  The whole area's roads looks like an earthquake tore through there.  The BBQ makes up for it though.

That's what we get for having a booming local economy and too many people moving here. Road congestion and infrastructure repairs constantly. They are probably not going to get to that pot hole for 5 years.

Just got back from Dallas yesterday afternoon. Went to Bob's Steakhouse over in Grapevine (I think). It was a pretty cool place... had that old-school "oak room" steakhouse vibe to it with dark mahogany paneled walls, fireplace, cigar smokers etc. The steaks were all prime and the strip I had was excellent. Went to Grimaldis Pizza the next night... not bad at all for what I believe is a chain.

Bob's is great. Ya Grimaldi's is a chain. If you are in the grapevine area next time go check out Pappa's Brothers Steakhouse. I think its a bit better than Bob's. I can't remember if I recommended it to you or someone else but if you want a bit more of a "Texas Vibe" go to La Hacienda Ranch in Colleyville. They have the best Steak Fajitas that I've ever had in my life.

Just put some baby backs on thick and dirty cherry smoke.  Shouldn’t be long before it clears, middle of the day calls got the best of me.

@SonVolt if you’re going to go to Bobs, the smoked pork chop is the thing to order.  3-bone chop, eats like it has a bacon crust.
    Love you bro!

I'll have to try the pork chop next time. Maybe that'll go better with the signature carrot, which tasted oddly like Potpourri . Not exactly the best paring for beef IMO.

Honestly, they're both chains, but they're both good (Grimaldi and Bob's).  I've not been to Pappa's Brothers, I'll have to check that out.

Honestly, next time, I'd just go back to the same area and go to Mi Dia from Scratch.  Sure, La Hacienda Ranch has more of a "Texas Vibe" but it's in the middle of nowhere off the freeway (121).

Pappas Brothers Steakhouse is definitely better than Bob's Steakhouse. The lobster bisque is fantastic as well.

Oh, you couldn't get it from the Spanglish? =)  They serve standard fare tex mex in more of an upscale setting.  And their margaritas are on point.

And @bgebrent I saw this one and thought of you.

Ugh.  Love the balloons.  A bunch used to fly around Louisville where I grew up.  Nothing like this.  Thanks Mark B)

I love balloons. You talk about freaking out....one day I was in a deer stand in the middle of nowhere and one flew right over me. The thing was just above the tree tops. I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out what the sound was till I could have hit them with a rock!
