Nope.  Spalting is some purdy fungus but it still burns.  See pictures.

Trying the wood option on the Roccbox.  Didn't read any instructions because that would be too easy.

Planning on searing some Ahi and roasting some asparagus.

    Spalted!

    What’s the wood?

Fixing to trial run the Phillips air fryer. I marinated a small tritip overnight in a 5 pepper marinade that I whipped up. I love deep fried tritip. Hope this is close to it.

@bgebrent - Glad you survived last night.  A throw-back performance worthy of one of their first few games.  That said, the above is worthy of recovery mode and beyond.  Great cook and presentation.  Congrats.

The woodworking folks warn about allergic reactions to milling spalted wood; I hope that burning it doesn't inflict a similar effect.   :|

@botch the effluent goes across the top of the oven and the fire is pretty clean, not too worried about it.  Plus inhalation vs eating are vastly different delivery systems.   I'd hate to saw blue cheese and breathe penicillin mold...

Grammar is optional on liquid supper nights.  Everyone knows that.

Time for the self-indulgent banquet- steak and lobster.  Road trip to nail the groceries.  Liquid banquets can be executed in any family environment.
While on the road-trip buy double so you have some in the ready service fridge.  FWIW-
