So I challenged my nearly 13 yr old to cook something on the egg. He chose "that buttery crusty thing". He meant skillet seared steak.

he set the menu. Seared filets, loaded mashed potatoes and green beans. I let him do everything except knife work, searing and burping.

he lit the egg, peeled his potatoes, grated the cheese, mashed the potatoes, decided what went in the potatoes, buttered the steaks...

it was a good meal and he had a good time. Now the 8 yr old wants to spatch a chicken....

as a bonus the wife picked up 3 filets for 10 bucks! The butcher market offered her the discount or cut fresh! Score!
