Well my pizza stone now has a 5 gallon bucket attached to it. May come in handy I guess.

I took it out of a blazing egg to go from indirect to direct and just sat it down and never thought of it. Found this this morning.

I always have trouble with temp for the bucket.  Either it comes out hot and runny or completely solid.  Inedible either way.   )

Would the plastic come off if you put it in the freezer? Worth a try.

I don't know if I'd burn it in the egg, but I thought maybe throw it in a fire pit.

What about burning it all off with a weed burner? I left a charcoal chimney in my Weber kettle a little longer than I should have once, and melted the handle off of it. Plastic was on the grid and below it. Filled it up with charcoal and did a clean burn and it's been fine.

+1 ... that would be my first move ... cut off most of the bucket and put it in the freezer.

Exactly what I was thinking.  Some spot burning with an acetylene torch could work too.

Spot heating with acetylene might create stress risers that could crack the stone.  MAPP might be a little more forgiving.  Even heating over the entire stone would be the most forgiving.  In a campfire (not the egg) would also work.

At least it has a handle now.

Scrape off what you can with a putty knife and then hit it with a palm sander.

Might take a little stone with it but no loss. Then clean burn what little, if any, is left.

Can't tell you why I know this works. lol
