Brother Stem, I really like this. A big chunk of meat cooked on the rare and a fork waiting to be put to good use. This is the kind of post that really gets both my attention and respect.Let it be known:
Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.
Status- Standing by.

Time and temp? I've never egged fork before.

@caliking, the squash is really simple. Mix melted butter, brown sugar, salt and pepper to your liking and pour over squash then cook at 400° until squash is tender. Flip occasionally to get even caramelization. I suggest cooking them on foil. The bottom gets pretty gunky.Steven

@nolaegghead I call BS on the first part of that comment. I'd really like to drink a beer or ten with you. Your humor right up my alley.

@stemcell33 - I'd tell you, but that might violate HIPAA

I'm good, don't need TMI. But if you feel the need to share, just sign a ROI, scan it and post on the forum. There's always a work around for HIPAA.Steven

This was a first for me. I've been trying to expand my simple palate by buying different items I notice in the store. I bought the butternut squash because it was intriguing to me that there was so many on the end cap in December. I've never really heard anybody say that butternut squash tasted great, just thought people bought them for decoration. Since fall is over, I figured people must be doing something with them besides decorating.
I had no idea what I was going to do with it when I bought it. A quick internet search found a simple recipe that included brown sugar. I'm a sweet addict so I just had to try it. Definitely worth trying again. I saved a little for the pizza I'm making today. Not sure if I'm going to use it as a topping yet though?Steven

That steak looks like it paid for the egg ... damn ... that could be used as a screen saver.
Did a quick look last night and thought that was caramelized pineapple ... caught your last post and realized my mistake. Neat meal ... thanks for trying it and posting it.
