There will be Absolutley no men allowed on the pole. Especially ones in skirts ;)

That is spoken by someone who has never made a Salado after party. Have you not got to meet @henapple?

I know I'll be there but haven't decided if I'll cook yet. It would be fun just to wonder around drinking with no responsibility. Hey, are you gonna get the stripper pole welded on to unit 7 in time for the fest?
If your putting together a drinking team I should be available! I am not much good on a stripper pole though. ;)

OK, I have to comment.  Those rigs are freakin awesome  =D>   I would really like to get to Salado - this might be the year, but it sounds like I might need to stay far away.

Short of an eggfest or other gathering. where do you find folks to eat all the meat you can smoke in those rigs?  I don't think you are a caterer, are you :-?

Isn't that a given?  I can't imagine there are many (any) grilling men, under 125 lbs, and in a kilt.

What about me?  I think I can sew a Maple Leaf kilt before March.  It will be good to see Steve again!

Okay, that covers the men and kilt criteria ... can't say it covers the UNDER 125 lb requirement. Yes?

Nice try Fred.  You see, I was born just up the road in Saginaw ... folks in that area of the country aren't that skinny.  My grand father was shaped like a fireplug.  And, most of my relatives followed his example.  Now, if that's one of your Canadian relatives ...

  • Judging from the pick, not likely. I just thought it was a funny pic. Although, whoever the third from left could've shed a few in the last yr. not likely as he is an egghead

First thank you for the kind words. No, I do not cater for a living. However I do cook for friends and family events such as weddings, anniversaries and reunions. Also there are several large charity events that I cook for throughout the year if my work schedule permits. Even if I did not cook for any of these, I would still keep a large Unit on hand. Why? Simple, I still like to cook whole goat and hog carcasses from time to time. I also will cook a occasional beef split when the opportunity presents its self. It takes a large Unit to do such. Also I have cooked on a offset for 30+ years. Just wouldn't seem right if one wasn't sitting on deck. The trailer rigs just make cooking for get togethers a breeze. Hook it to the truck and go. I'm pulling Unit #6 to a fellow forum members house tomorrow for a small throw down. Could I get by without the big units? Probably so. But I sure enjoy having them for all the above reasons my friend.
