Whenever someone mentions global warming, I think of that big fat ass Al Gore.

I fully realize I will long since be gone but I am so hopeful that global warming alarmists still exist whenever the mini-ice age comes to pass in the next 10,000 years. Their frozen, vapid, dumbfounded looks should prove entertaining to the anthropology students who get to chisel them out of the ice.I cook. I eat. I repeat. Thornville, Ohio

The only thing these policies will do is destroy our economy. The war being waged against the coal industry will pimp slap everyone every month when the electric bill is due. Better world??? Spare me.Flint, Michigan

This is a long thread with a pant load of mis-information about which party is best for who.On Tuesday, 36.6% of those eligible to vote got to the polls. That is not how a representative democracy is supposed to work.If closer to 80% of those eligible to vote had voted, then one side or the other can crow about who "won on election day". 36.6% turnout means the winning side got perhaps 20% of the electorate to vote for that side.Tuesday this week, democracy lost to an apathetic electorate. So, who gives a quarter pound burger's worth of give a **** whether you're a Republican or a Democrat ? - If you like what happened Tuesday, give it a year for the disappointment to set in as any partisan legislation that comes out of the next Congress is going to get vetoed and they won't have 60 votes to over ride.Look forward to 2016, and vote. It's none of my business who you vote for, I consider my politics personal so I'm not taking sides in an open forum. Come on over, I'll cook for you, feed you, liquor you up, and if you want to talk about policy I will talk to you without trying to change your mind, just explain why I personally like the party I tend to vote for.Just vote. It's your civic duty.

Try this - for republicans - you almost are there, but if business is booming they will hire more to keep up with demand. The more people working makes hiring more people difficult because the people you want are scarce. You raise the wages you pay to attract the people you want to hire. It has nothing to do with being able to hire more at higher wages, it has everything to do with NEEDING those people to help your business.mountaindewbass said:
Republicans-Do whats best for the economy(typically business) in order to create a ripple down effect. If business are booming then they can hire more people and give higher wages.Democrats-Do whats best for the people. If people are happy then they will be happy at work and be productive which creates a better economy.
Then its just a matter of which you deem to be more productive and better for the individual or the country, right?
Democrats take money (taxes) from productive people and give it to unproductive people to buy their vote. Many become dependent on that handout and vote for democrats to keep their cash flow going. Is that what's BEST for people? There is always going to be people who need help and a compassionate society should help them. The problem is when a significant percentage of the population is receiving government handouts, you are in decline. Guess where our country is today?
I should take a page from SGH and say I should stay out of this.Flint, Michigan -
^^^This^^^ This is why politics are dumb. Barely anyone cares so we wind up the status quo, everytime.EDIT: This was meant for DeiselkW's post, not Fred's.

I care because this country is going into more debt than it can handle. You read about raising the debt limits and most folks shrug. The problem is that money must be repaid. We will be dead or too old to give a crap, but our children and grandchildren will be saddled with the burden of paying it off. Look at your kids and grandkids. What a cruel thing they will have to endure because nobody had the balls to act today.
But I just remembered I should be like SGH and stay out of it.Flint, Michigan -
