ALCS

I know a lot of you may not care, but the Royals are playing some really great baseball and you ought to check them out on Monday night. Right now they are 2-0 coming home for a 3 game home stand if needed. They are fun to watch.

I'm a Red Sox and Braves fan. That being said I would love to see the Royals in the World Series.

  • I figured ticket prices for Tuesday's game would skyrocket as soon as they won tonight. You can get SRO tickets for $170. And plenty of seats upstairs for under $200.

Hats off to the Royals. Baltimore cannot get a lead when they need it and Britton isn't doing so hot. The outfielders are fantastic. They are catching balls that were doubles against Detroit(and most teams).

Was at the game tonight.  My O's wasted a fantastic opportunity with bases loaded.  Was painful to see, but props to the Royals for playing hard.  Still hoping we can do what KC did on our turf Next week!

Thanks for the kind words and I know it's been a long time since the O's have been to the World Series too. The Royals seem like a team of destiny though. The O's are tough and the last 2 games have really given my heart a work out.

  • I'm a Cubs fan so I laugh (and cry a little) when I hear people lament about how long it's been since the Royals were in the World Series.  That being said, my American League team is KC.  I lived there for many years including when they won the WS.
And I agree with you Ladeback about how they are playing.  They just look like winners.  That could change, but so far so good.
If they win it all, and I still lived there, I would celebrate by taking the family to Smokehouse BBQ, the original location in the northland.  Loved their Burnt Ends, beans and crispy fries!

They are still good. They had a girl a year ago, but fixed everything and are back smoking some great meat. It only 15 minutes from my house. Calling for rain the next two days so we will see how they go.

Indeed. I don't know what it is with the O's. During the 2nd, I thought they were going to blow it open. 1 hit the rest of the game. If it gets to the bullpen with the Royals tied or ahead tomorrow, it's done. At least at that point I can get AL East Champs apparel for cheap ;)

I can't watch another Giants/Cardinals World Series celebration. PLEASE take it home Royals/Orioles.

I'll be pulling for the Royals.  As a all sports Cleveland fan I root for anyone who hasn't won it in a long time as it gives me some twisted hope that someday I may see a professional sports title for one of the Cleveland teams.

  • Not sure I could take another I-70 series. The number of times the television coverage would show the call at first in game 6 from 1985 would be in the triple digits. But it would be cool to have a series all in the Midwest.

I doubt you'll be waiting long. Probably next June unless the Spurs have anything to say.

Royals are for real, they have momentum and have had nothing to lose, keeps 'em playing loose. MLB is all about peaking at the right time, KC has it going their way. (I might not like what they did to my A's, but still it is great to watch)

    Congrats to KC!! Awesome!!

Yes the Kansas City Royals are going to the World Series. This is the fastest of the games they've played and they are 8-0 so far the playoffs. My town is pumped.

It's not that they haven't been challenged. They have just played nearly perfect baseball. No one will beat them if they continue to play like this.

Their pen was nearly perfect, posting a 1.13 ERA,

In the last 8 years, 7 out of the 8 first teams to reach the WS lost the Fall Classic.  2008 Phillies being the exception.

The Cards or Giants will bring it on home, again.
