Macintosh, my first computer was an APPLE II, with those big floppy discs back in 1984.

I use a PC at work. Clunky, stubborn, prone to every virus outbreak and the worst customer service Bangalore has to offer.

I like the way Apple computers just work. Day after day, no malicious software to worry about, all my programs work together.

Programs for PC (and Android) have to have code written for each and every platform and computer manufacturer. What works on a Dell might not work as well on a Samsung. Same with the phone, apps have to be heavily laden with millions of lines of unnecessary code so they'll work with all the different manufacturers of Android phones.

Apple software works on Apple computers and phones. No burdensome extra architecture to accommodate software written for other computers.

Apples are far more reliable, require far fewer IT guys to support, and the store is crowded because of demand, it's not a reflection on the operating system.
I'm in IT and my MBP has been a piece of crap thus far. They've replaced the logicboard twice so far and they gave me the run around for a 2 years before they finally acknowledged there was even an issue. They have good customer service, but they aren't without their faults either. I've never had this problem with a PC, desktop or laptop. Yes, there are far fewer threats on my mac, but I surf on my primary PC without virus protection. Cause I know how to freaking surf! Stay off those suspect sites and you'll be good...but mostly, stop being a flipping "clicker". Clunky? PC has some sexy ass devices out there. Love the Asus ZenBook line. There are also several people custom building Hackintosh rigs that run circles around the Mac Pro for far less. That's my only beef with mac...they are very overpriced! They do have the best track pad I've every used...that's why I love my mac! Every time I'm at the Apple Store...it's 50/50. Half tying to get their **** fixed and half buying new ****. Due to being sold from so many different peeps, the Microsoft store will never look busy.

Apple vs Android...I have always said that the difference is Apple only codes for their own ****. That's why I'm going with the Nexus 6 this month. They're not manufacturing the phone, but it is Google's phone and I will get Pure Android the way Google intended me to get it. No bloatware. I will never use Samsung again after this month.

Every thing you said above is well beyond my understanding of computers. But it all sounded good for what that's worth. :D

Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

    Status- Standing by.

Microsoft store another sad attempt at copying Apple, just like everything they've ever done. This one sadder than most due to its lack of success.

Maybe I'm just not used to it but I hate the phone. We have 2 Macs, 2 macbooks, iPad and 3 iPhones in our house. Still on my Note 3. They don't get the viruses though.

Yep.  In 2007, they had one of the most innovative devices that ever hit the market.  They forced everyone to step their game up to catch up, but they became complacent and stopped raising the bar.  Same damn boring iOS 8 versions later.

Never seen an apple store that wasn't crowded. I have always preferred their stuff. One of the nicest things about retiring... I will never have to use a PC again, ever! :)

As for a phone, I am one of those guys who keeps that sort of stuff forever. Until it stops doing what I need. Or stuff no longer seems to work as well as it used to. Or it breaks. I have an apple 3GS that I bought shortly after it was released. It has been fine but lately seems to be a little funky. Was planning to get the new 6 but wanted to wait until the dust settles and the iOS is stable. :)

Today, I went for a bike ride. I clipped my phone to the handlebar bracket that I've been using for a couple of years. Apparently, I didn't quite get it right. Hit a bump at about 20 MPH and the phone went flying onto the pavement. No case. One corner got banged up a bit, but that was it. I smoothed it out with an emery board. Everything still works!

Yes, I will buy another iPhone. And a more secure handlebar mount. :)

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I gave up on PCs last year after many years (my first PC was a Whole Earth!!!) because I hated constantly dealing with viruses and malware.  Got a mac mini and the stupid little thing works great.

I thought I was done with viruses, and then my *router* got hacked.  Wow, that was eye opening and scary.

Ubuntu. Ha ha. I roll with an iPhone and an iPad mini. My desktop PC is still my preference. I like it because I built it and if anything breaks I can fix it. It is simple, when hard drive craps out put in a new one since everything is backed up in the raw and an image file. If the graphics card dies replacement is easy so is a power supply. On a Mac that would break the bank, better off buying a new one. They all die, I had a business that dealt in hardware repair and data recovery for years, all things break.

I thought I had turned off remote administration when I set up the router.  Maybe I forgot... not sure why the average person would check their DNS settings, or realize that they had been changed.  I have a habit of setting mine to use Google's DNS, that's the only way I know something was wrong.
