Baguettes on the egg

The wife mixed up some dough for baguettes over the weekend.
We baked them on the egg on Sunday.
She used this recipe from King Arthur flour.
Classic baguettes
They came out well. They had a nice crust on them and a very good texture.
They were baked at 450, platesetter with legs up, 3 fire bricks on the platesetter for thermal mass, grill grate on top of bricks with pizza stone on top of that.
Baguettes were placed on a baguette tray and spritzed with water upon placing in egg.
25 min cook time.

It didn't pick up any smoke flavor. I heated the egg for at least an hour before placing the bread in.JohnInCarolina said:Very cool! I'd love to try this - does the bread pick up any smoke?
I use Humphrey Hardwood charcoal and it has very little smoke.
