Stuffed meatloaf

I've had my L Egg for a little over a year now and am trying to get a little adventurous. I saw a thread for stuffed meatloaf the other day. (I believe by SGH) It looked good so I thought I would give it a try. It tasted amazing with the cheese and mashed potatoes inside. Looks not so much... The one end exploded and the top layer of bacon was semi crisp but the overlapped bacon was still soft. Attached is a picture of the before but my phone wasn't around quick enough before the family dove in. Any ideas on the bacon and the explosion? Thanks for the help in advance. I love all the ideas that come out of the forum. Keep Egging!!!!

Looks excellent my friend. I will explain how to crisp the bacon and stop the said explosion when I get home tonight. Again yours looks excellent and glad that you enjoyed my friend.

Looks good and nice bacon basket weave work. It would've been cool to see a sliced pic but, I understand. Shock collars on eager esters works.

The before looks awesome so I'm sure it tasted great. I seen @SGH post on this as well and hope to try it myself someday....love anything wrapped in bacon.

I posted this the other day. I do a decent amount of bacon wrapped tenderloins and they come out best when you precook the bacon some. This cook the bacon was almost cooked before I pulled it and wrapped the meatloaf. http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/1169657/finally-got-around-to-trying-sgh-s-bacon-wrapped-mashed-potato-stuffed-meatloaf-lotsa-pics#latest
