It's 4:30 on Friday afternoon. My office building is a ghost town. Am I the only idiot still working? Ok, you caught me about "working". Let me re-phrase. Am I the only idiot still at work?

I'm still at work too, but they have this fascination with paying me overtime so I guess I don't mind. Looking forward to taking my son to see the new Ninja Turtles flick.Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ....

I've been "working" from the home office for 5 weeks now and head out next week for a bit. I like to break up the day with picking tomatoes, pruning the herbs and getting the grass cut early. Sssshhhh, don't tell my clients.

Fred - Thought you were in the local government game, none of them are at work during the summer, specially Fridays in the summer.I'm sure time will go by far too fast and you will be back "at work" on Monday, in the meantime, enjoy the weekend.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Must be nice. I'm in by 0800 and out by 1830 or 1900. 40 hours is all I get.
-
I was exempt from 2001 until this May. Upon taking my new position, I was pretty shocked that it was an hourly spot. I will say though, the incentive of getting paid for working more than my required time isn't enough to motivate me to look for extra hours or work. I'd much rather be home than here at the hospital.Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ....

I'm salary... Been that way for over 8 years. Most weeks the 50-55 hours don't bother me too much; so weeks that drift upwards of 60+ irritate me a little.MSV Chill Spot

I'm self employed. I'm either at work on the road or off when I'm home. I took December and January off and egged like a mofo. Now 70 hour weeks are the norm. The longest stretch I've done is 32 hour drive, work, drive. I've done this for 30 years. Presently I have a great supervisor I can trust and he does trips on his own. That's a huge bonus.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN
