OT: True Detective

Just saw that True Detective swept the Emmy Nominations. Any of you fans of this fantastic series? I also just started reading the short stories of Nic Pizzolatto, the writer of the series. Less dark than TD, but very deep. Would make a great read while tending the Egg!

Agree with you, this show is a fantastic series. I just hope the new series will be as good as the last. I think it's going to be hard adjust to new characters, but should be good.

The books would be good too on a long cook...

True Detective is well deserving of awards. Very addicting series. Love the characters.

They do a great job of portraying the bayou and Cajun areas of Louisiana and N.O.

It's one of the few shows that don't exaggerate the local accents. It's spot on.

I'm a New Orleanian and it's fun to recognize some of the areas where scenes take place. 

I've been to Erath, LA many times.

I liked it. it was good. I also liked Fargo. And can't wait for board walk empire to start up again.

I'm saving True Detective....haven't watched yet because I'm too busy, but really have had people laud it to me.  I'm looking forward to it.

I really enjoyed the series, but everyone really over hyped it so I was let down a little bit.

Great series, but they blew the last few episodes IMO. Realistically, they needed another couple of episodes to wrap things up properly. Fargo, OTOH, was a nearly perfect series.

Fargo was on FX over the past few months. It was produced by the Coen brothers - if you liked the movie at all you will love the series.

I will be adding TD to the list of shows to watch.  I just got HBO for the first time in years so I have tons of shows to catch up on. 

I really enjoyed Fargo but have 3-4 episodes left to watch.
