I use the rotary phone for calling any place with an automatic operator. It messes with their system and I usually get to talk to a person pretty quickly.

I got my dyson animal through Woot. I have to say I am very dissappointed in its ability to vacuum area rugs and bathroom size floor mats. The suction is so great that it just sucks up the rugs and you can't move the vacuum. There are no adjustments that I am aware of that will allow me to use on these rugs. How do they make a vacuum that can't be used on rugs? Carpet is fine because it is stretch/pinned down. Feels very misleading that they wouldn't acknowledge/fix this obvious defeciency. Why not just have an adjustment to reduce the power?

You suck cazz. Clean freak here too. Wanted a dyson, but simply could afford it when we needed one. Got the shark navigator pro. It's ok, but no dyson. Enjoy!

A temperpedic bed, a big green egg and a dyson are all impactful purchases in one's life.

One thing interesting to me is the highly positive ratings for the Dyson here, with its high suction.  When Consumer Reports rated it, it came in about mid-pack, and they said, "Yeah, it doesn't lose suction, but the initial suction is poor to begin with".  Totally opposite of what I'm reading here.
I use a $1,500 Kirby "Omega".  Which I picked up at a yard sale, with the complete set of attachments, for $150!  It works perfectly, although I envy the Dyson, and others, for their easy-to-empty canisters.
And I KEEP my man-card, dammit, 'cuz MY vacuum is a precision piece of machinery that costs more than your damn Egg.  So There!

Consumer Reports reviewed quite a few Dyson models, but did not review the "Dyson DC65 Animal Complete".

    Strange to say the least.

I don't know what to expect from it over the long haul, but initial consumer report is thing is bad FREAKING ass!  I'm over how disgusting I feel and now its a game to see if I can fill the canister again.  My carpet has never looked better after a vacuum.   :D

I am very disappointed, shocked and appalled. So many claim the most important things are their egg, their Dyson, their tempurpedic - yet no one has mention their must have Thermapen.

The GFU decided either Willey my ever faithful golden had to go, or I had to buy her an Animal.  Because I didn't feel like moving again, I took the path of least resistance.  We loves us our Animal.  Then came heartbreak - her Animal wasn't sucking like it did originally.  She doesn't clean the filters regularly, I thought it was just the filters.  But replacing them didn't help.  Ol' Tom likes to take stuff apart (even if he doesn't always get it back together), and I looked at it as a challenge.  Why, I even looked at some You tube videos on Mr. Gore's electric internet.  It is incredible how the vortices get completely packed in with doggy pieces.  About a half hour of cleaning, and about the same amount of time to get it back together, and the Animal was back in top form.  I wonder how many are thrown away, when all they need is a thorough cleaning.

The GFU is a world class shopper - we got our Animal at Bed, Bath, and Beyond with a 20% off coupon and some other sale deal.  Almost made it reasonable.

From now on, if someone mentions Cazzy's wings or photos or brisket, we'll all be thinking "Cazzy... he's that Dyson vacuum guy..."

You'd have been better off with Mangrates.
