I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but saw Jake this afternoon after being gone this week and was thankful.

Yesterday around noon a drunk driver hit and killed a 14 year old boy changing a tire on I-24 here in Tennessee. His older sister watch as this happened. The driver fled the scene but was followed and arrested. She has a long rap sheet.

Time goes by so quickly and we haven't a clue of what tomorrow brings. Hug those kids and make sure they know you love them.

I always tell my wife if she gets a flat try to exit and get off the highway because there are so many idiots out on the roads. We can replace the rim and tire but can't replace her.

I feel awful for that family.

My boy's at the stage where its hard he doesn't like getting left at the babysitter so I have to dump him and run while the sitter distracts him.  It kills me not to get an official good by hug and kiss.

Before my first wife died, I didn't express my feelings much. When it got near the end for her, I realized how important it is to do that. Now with family, every time I hang up the phone, leave or they leave, I let them know I love them. I think it makes a big difference in their lives & mine.

Each stage or age has its challenges and rewards. Mine are 19 and 14. There have several incidents lately of deaths or illnesses around home. It makes me appreciate all of them.

This is terrible.

Sadly, I used to see this so much. At least he isn't feeling pain anymore. I make a point to tell my wife that I love her every time we part, no matter how pissed off we are at each other. 

You never know.

So sad... But it serves as an important reminder. Nothing, not even the next second is promised. Telling someone that you love them is the most important thing you can do, no matter how much they know that you know that they know...

Parents, we never stop. Mine are 38, 37 and 35 and I still worry about them and look forward to a hug. Keep 'em close.

Did that yesterday and got into some Makers and then some Tequila. Not doing well today.

Great post Tony!  With busy careers and what not, it's always good to get a reminder who we work so hard for.

Sad story. My kids get hugs and kisses every day when I get home from work and when I leave for work.

That's heartbreaking. A kid killed because someone didn't know when to stay put and not get in a car.

That' is horrible. As for my kids. I enjoy all the time I can with them even if it's just in the same room as I know where they are. And all the egging time I have/am missing due to their sports and school function is OK. Hey are growing up fast. And will be out of the house one day.
