Hey Steve, how thick, what temp/time and how did you sear the chops? Just received my new toy today, this site is insane, free shipping from Asia even if you order a 99 cents item.canuckland

lol, instructions in Japanese only, thanks to diagrams ... don't aim at face, don't touch nozzle, turn off if flame goes out, don't use upside down. oh, the brand label came off so I used my old small torch to melt the adhesive backing and stuck it back.canuckland

So you busted out the sous vide gadgetry from your canuckistanian lair (dug-in cave in a mountain of snow). Would love to actually see the chops, but if not, very nice vegetables!

@Canugghead - x2 on the in usage report please. I'm holding off ordering a Iwatani for $50 CDN if this is a keeper.

@BigWader - Iwatani is $39.20 plus 13% HST at Amazon.ca:but DX.com has one that looks identical (probably came from same factory) for $16.39, tax free, free shipping. My Kalilong arrived in the mail box yesterday, no tax, no duty. The shipment takes several weeks, what are you waiting for ??? ... just do it now!Kalilong vs. Iwatani (I think the differences are just cosmetic):The connectors look identical. Both rated 1500C. Look closely at the nozzle tips, Kalilong has small holes around the perimeter, not sure if that makes it burn hotter but it certainly looks cooler:Iwatani nozzle:Kalilong nozzle:Also, get your butane canisters from local Asian stores, price for pack of four varies from $5.99 to $4.99, YMMV but I once got them at $3.99/4.canuckland

searzall claims they don't leave torch taste on the food like the competitions, but I never had that problem with my old, smaller butane torch. The trick is to make sure the flame is properly adjusted before touching the food with the tip of the blue flame where the combustion is hottest and fullest.canuckland

@BigWader I have an Iwatani and a Sterno. I strongly suggest the Sterno over the Iwatani. The Sterno was ~30$. It burns cleaner, it is easier to adjust and looks sturdier.BigWader said:@Canugghead - x2 on the in usage report please. I'm holding off ordering a Iwatani for $50 CDN if this is a keeper.

@caliking @Bigwader - used my new toy many times for lighting lump (in tandem with looftlighter), and couple of times for searing food, quite satisfactory, no butane taste in the food as claimed by the Searzall folks in their sales pitch. Did tandoori chicken breast tonight 146F/2hr, it was good but I prefer tandoori cook in the egg all the way, this is way easier though.served with vege and home made dosa from leftover fermented batter:canuckland

Nice looking plate! Although tandoori chicken and dosa is a new combo for me On second thought, its similar to Malaysian roti canai in a way.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.
