Meads, at least the ones I enjoy are referred to as a melomel style mead. Very viscous, thicker, heavy, and sweet. Lots of fruit and honey flavors. With that said, I never find myself drinking tons of it on its own. Usually just fill a glencarin glass and that’s enough. This particular style is usually higher abv as well.  

Try to track down apis jadwiga if you can. It is in my opinion the standard when it comes to mead. Aged 6 years before sold, sweet honey and raspberry flavors at 16% abv.

Woodford reserve double oaked bourbon, Dashfire old fashioned bitters, Luxardo cherries, navel orange peel, and clear ice ball.  If you never had Luxardo cherries before, do yourself a favor and find some.  It will change your life 😳
