Just got done with my colonoscopy, finally time to eat!!!

I have been torturing myself the last two days looking at all of your great cooks. Never really knew quite how much I love to Egg until I couldn't.  So happy for this 3 day sabbatical to be over.

It wasn't as bad as the stuff they used several years ago, but not the most enjoyable either. The stuff you have to drink is the worst part. Terrible and quite alot. Wish they would still do the pills and just water but they said that has been "black boxed."

Hopefully you are good for 5 years. Next time make some chicken and beef stock and keep simmering down till it's like syrup. Takes the hunger pangs away and doesn't block the view.

Osmoprep? Yeah, we don't use it much. Moviprep mostly.

Suprep is what they gave me this time. I believe Osmoprep was the pills? I liked it best.  The old Fleet Phosphosoda(sp) was absolutley horrific. Had to drink Sprite with it. I haven't been able to drink Sprite, 7up or anything like that ever again and that was 16 years ago when I was 18.

I hear about it on a daily basis. Our patient population averages scopes every 6 months to 2 years. IBD es no bueno.

I always liked the Fleet, could chug that stuff down in a hurry with no added sweetener, of course being Canadian I was brought up on Buckley's cough syrup, which pretty much makes Fleet taste like a mild Chardonnay. 

Colonoscopy is much better today than it was years ago, I always referred to it as my date with the silver stallion. 

Hope the results were good. I'm due later this year.

@berndcrisp, I just want to make sure I did not offend. It's kind of the running joke after stressful situations in the medical field. It's just a way to diffuse the pressure of the situation. Even with patients who are very sick and having frequent scopes, since their procedures are in the morning and the first meal they get is lunch. An icebreaker, if you will.

I have UC so every two years or so since high school.

Mid 40's due to colitis. My bother, who never had an issue, went for annual physical at age 50 and told the Doc his big brother had colitis, The Doc suggested he get scoped, and low and behold he had mild left side colitis. Now he goes every 3 years.

That's my wheelhouse. I'm a clinical coordinator(RN) for the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program at a hospital in Baltimore. Do you see specialists at Vandy?

I have before, but I have a great GI Dr. in Tullahoma(next town over from mine). Been with her for years and basically in "remission" since about '08

Good for you! We interact with them a lot and are currently doing a big clinical trial with them and Pitt.

Colonoscopy?  Child's play.  Wait until you have a cystoscope.

Hope all the results were good :-)  I too get frequent medical tests, and I glow in the dark.

I remember my first one, they gave me something, no lie, called, " Go Lightly"...........boy were they wrong!!!!!

Thought I was getting one today, but the Doc put it off pending results from another test, may luck out and not have to have the cystoscope !

Ask for a Valium.  Actually, don't let me scare you off something that needs to be done.  Not a lot of fun but nothing you can't get through and make jokes about later.  Hope you have a pretty nurse like I did.

Ah, two gallons of Go Lightly.  By the end you are tossing your cookies.  My first time they didn't do anesthesia.  Boy was easier with more recent ones.
